hoodless
So we've offered contracts to 4 players. 2 have knocked them back and 2 yet to respond. Players whose contracts haven't been triggered have responded either. Flippin ek. Brand new squad then. McHugh sounds like he would only take it if he gets offered fuck all else. tondaft1874
Thomson’s off. For the best for both parties I think. Is this 100%?
TheGoon
Is this 100%? Should be confirmed tomorrow. Everyone else had to give their responses by tonight as well.
DreamOakTree
Is it possible we've offered lesser contracts to the likes of Thomson as he would be a back-up option only? If he accepts then okay and if he doesn't we move on and look for something else/better.

With him wanting to reduce the squad size I don’t think we can afford to have anybody who would just be considered as back up. I know he graduated from uni last year maybe he is going part time.. probably his level to be fair. Hopefully it’s true and he is away as hopkin would have regretted signing him
mcintyre_gmfc
We’re linked with Clyde centre half Tom Lang, came through the ranks at Rangers. Us Falkirk and Airdrie looking at him.
HamCam
Thomson has what is effectively a full-time job, therefore, moving on to part-time football probably works for him.
DreamOakTree
Read we're one of the clubs linked with Doolan as well. Not too sure about that one.

Saw him in one game this season, he looked decent to be fair. Quite comfortable on the ball.

If he accepts then okay and if he doesn't we move on and look for something else/better. Offering dung players a contract because they might be a decent 'back-up option' is when it goes tits up every* time this club tries to run with a small squad. The red flag during last summer was handing both Scully and Gaston a deal instead of going for one good goalkeeper instead. There are very few situations where having Robert Thomson on the pitch is going to do anything worthwhile for us at Championship level - too few to justify wasting whatever chunk of the wage budget he'd take up. The same principle applies to any other jobber linked with the club this summer. * The 2013/14 ringer select excepted The site is supposed to be a place for the extended 'family' of Morton supporters - having an affinity with people that you don't know, because you share a love of your local football club. It's not supposed to be about point scoring and showing how 'clever' or 'funny' you are, or just being downright rude and offensive to people you don't know, because you can get away with it. Unfortunately, it seems the classic case of people who have little standing/presence in real life, use this forum as a way of making themselves feel as if they are something. It's sad, and I've said that before.. So, having been on Morton forums for about 15 years I guess, I've had enough... well done t*ssers, another Morton supporter driven away. You can all feel happy at how 'clever' you are

I also don’t think he’s good enough even as back-up. * The 2013/14 ringer select excepted
