Stevie Aitken's Love Child
The thing about him finding his level is probably something I don't really agree with, mainly because I don't think he would be at all suited to junior football. His game, regardless of how good or bad we think it is, is mainly about passing the ball, and he's not really good at the dirty side of the game. I reckon he'd do much better going abroad to play somewhere on the continent, where he'd be more suited to the slower pace of the game. Not suggesting he'd be able to play at much of a level mind, but plenty of lower division scottish players have gone abroad over the last few years, so why not. Mr.Blue
What grace? Signing for a big spending team in the conference, the manager ranting about him after a few games and now he finds himself playing junior football. That grace. stuart
I hope he does well there, I go and watch Talbot when Morton aren't playing and am looking forward to seeing him on Saturday against Cumnock. Talbot are at the very top of the junior game and playing for them equates to a mid range 2nd division team I would think (albeit with better money, more trophies and potential big crowds every so often). Hope Cumnock don't know about his free kick taking abilities.
GiGi
Hope Cumnock don't know about his free kick taking abilities. They might run out of balls if they don't bring a few extra, a few of them are likely to end up ripping through the net so hard the ball goes back in time and he scores at Easter Road again. Or just go out the ground. stuart
It's true, until this season I was getting more entertainment and value for money at Talbot matches than at Morton matches. The likes of Gavin Collins could easily do a job in the 2nd division, there are a lot of right haddies there though that will readily respond to taunts from the crowd, great fun. TRVMP
It's true, until this season I was getting more entertainment and value for money at Talbot matches than at Morton matches. Which means nothing about the quality of the league. The likes of Gavin Collins could easily do a job in the 2nd division, there are a lot of right haddies there though that will readily respond to taunts from the crowd, great fun. I'm sure there are some players talented enough in the juniors to go senior. In a very few cases they're better off staying part time in the junior setup. But in the vast, vast majority of cases, the players either 1) aren't good enough or 2) don't have the mentality to succeed in the SFL. I have nothing against the juniors whatsoever but there is a real gulf in quality between the middle of Division 2 and the very top of the Superleague. Bobbyton
Carlo Monti supposidly played for Kings Park Rangers on Saturday against Gourock Thistle AFC. Gourock Thistle being the team who have played St Mirren a couple of times in the renfrewshire cup in recent times. Anyway Thistle won 6-2 against KPR. I wouldn't normally laugh at a player falling out of the senior game, but he can only have himself (and probably more so his agent) to blame.
