Darragh confirmed as leaving as well by the Tele, not overly surprised but the contract offer should’ve been off the table weeks ago. I’d say Ayr will be his next club with them losing out on Ashcroft.

Not a big loss.

Is Lamie a free agent now? Dundee announced in February he’d signed a pre-contract for a permanent deal to start when his Motherwell deal expires in the summer. Then in May their squad update listed him among the players returning to their parent clubs.

Discussed earlier in the thread, nobody knows.

He agreed the Dundee deal, but there has been no word that he/they followed through with it and a deal was signed, he hasn't been seen in any pre-season media and is reportedly training with Airdrie.

Is Rudden just a hope? Haven't seen it mentioned

Possibly not wanted at Dundee since he went out on loan last season. Think he still has a year left.

Is there the chance we see maybe bearne leaving on loan to get first team minutes and make way for all these attacking players coming in, The same way garrity went out the first half of last season? Or even leave by mutual consent? I was looking forward to seeing him as part of a more footballing side this year but he’s essentially the furthest back in the pecking order and proabbly won’t get much of a chance to play if all the signings work out as planned.

always rated the boy shaw and happy to see him in, decent goal record from midfield which is something we need. Although I didn’t expect another winger/atttacking mid to be next on imries list.

would bite your hand off for rudden, always rated the boy although has fell away a bit the last year or so. Typical imrie signing, has showed he can be a goal scorer at this level and maybe imrie could get him back to the levels he was at 2/3 years ago.

I've never seen anything in Shaw tbh and find this signing a head-scratcher. That said I felt the same amount about the last forward player we signed from Inverness and am happy to have been completely wrong on that score.

I do not understand how the squad will work unless there is at least one departure in the pipeline.

The site is supposed to be a place for the extended 'family' of Morton supporters - having an affinity with people that you don't know, because you share a love of your local football club. It's not supposed to be about point scoring and showing how 'clever' or 'funny' you are, or just being downright rude and offensive to people you don't know, because you can get away with it. Unfortunately, it seems the classic case of people who have little standing/presence in real life, use this forum as a way of making themselves feel as if they are something. It's sad, and I've said that before..

So, having been on Morton forums for about 15 years I guess, I've had enough... well done t*ssers, another Morton supporter driven away. You can all feel happy at how 'clever' you are

Don't agree. O'Connor didn't kick on last season, but is a central defender who can also cover right back and is at a suitable age for development. That's not going to be easy to replace IMO.

That said the contract deal was there for ages and it's entirely correct to move on.

The likes of Bearne you would imagine would go out on loan as I don't see how he gets in the team with the options we have now.

O'Boy again at his age you would think a loan move would benefit him, I know King can play a few positions but he didn't exactly set the world a light at a poor Clyde side another who might be let go.

I totally disagree.  I think he's been our best centre half over the past couple of seasons but seems I'm in the minority.

Assuming O'Boy and Murdoch head out on loan, I'd be hesitant to ship Bearne out too soon. Injuries and suspensions are going to happen.

If bearne goes out on loan this season then it's pretty clear that Dougie doesn't see him as a starter especially with the amount of wingers we have signed. Unless he has a brilliant season he'll be off at the end of his contract.

Disappointing that O'connor is away. He has the potential to be a very good centre half at this level and has time on his side to develop. Can play on the right or in the middle which is also a handy option to have. As others have said. The contract was on the table for a long time and the club have made the right decision to withdraw it.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see Garrity back out on loan as well, he’s had 2 decent spells in league 2, maybe try get him to a team in league one until January would suit all parties.

He was in league 1 with Annan last season.

Certainly wouldn't loan him or Bearne out at this stage. We've been crying out for a bit of squad depth for years and it looks like we finally have good options in the forward positions

LM-Reynolds, Garrity,

AM- Shaw, Lyall

RM- Bearne, Moffat,

Striker- Davies and New.

Some of those players can cover multiple positions too

Injures, suspensions and poor form will kick in at some point, I'd keep them all and make them fight for their place in the team.

Think there was huge potential with O’Connor but there was probably an element of him not being fancied as much as the other centre halves. He seemed to be the one that would drop out onto the bench. Thought he looked more than decent at RB earlier in the season too which was frustrating when French was continually playing ahead of him.

If he is replaced by someone better that would be ideal and Broadfoot comes in as back up. Dreaming of Ricki Lamie & Liam Grimshaw after the chat on here!
