Good signing. Had an impressive spell at Airdrie last season. I remember watching there game against hearts in the cup when Imrie was a pundit for it and he said he tried to sign him previously.

Aaron Lyall next to sign for a year with option of another

winger from rangers who was on loan at Airdrie last season

If he's coming in then seems we'll have an overload of wingers. Bearne, Reynolds, Moffat, Davies and then lyall. Unless Dougie sees Davies and another solely as strikers. Would still like to see a target man in the mould of Oakley brought in

There's a storm on the horizon

And for that I can't see the sun

For I'll keep a waiting on the pavement

For the ice cream van to come

He sees Moffat in the 10, replacing Crawford.

Pars fans saying he was lost effective on the wing but will be interesting to see how that pans out.

Forgot about Garrity too!

Dougie said when he signed the 10 is his best position. Airdrie fans saying the 10 is Lyall's best position...

Good to have options up there regardless. We were so restricted last season and it told.

We're replacing McGrattan, Quitongo, Muirhead, and Boyd as well as offering a different type of option to Crawford centrally. Id think we'd be looking for 6 players or so to fight for 3 or 4 more forward places.

I'm assuming Davies will be the closest thing to Muirhead's retirement. As it stands he'll play centrally.

Listened to an interview with Lyall there whilst at Rangers and he also played more centrally with them at times so another player who can play in numerous positions if need be.

Airdire fans certainly rate him and were keen for him to come back.

6 players for those front 4 positions now. If we can get a right good number 9 we are looking in good shape, as difficult as that will be.

Sounds like another good piece of business from Dougie and certainly seems like we own Airdrie football club.

Probably sign McGill and Telfer next.

Hopefully everyone who was said the sky was falling because we didn't have a full squad two weeks ago feels suitably daft. People were wanting "statements" to clarify the budget.

I'd imagine the remaining priorities are replacements, in one way or another, for Power, O'Connor, Strapp, and Oakley.

I’d agree with that, not sure about how many after that, maybe a loan or two to boost the squad? I see murdoch and o’boy have been in the training videos, so including them and replacing they four would take us to a 20 man squad:

Mullen

(Murdoch)

ballentyne baird new new

(Broadfoot)

wilson blues

(Gillespie) (king) (new)

moffat      Lyall     Reynolds

(bearne)   (O’boy)       (Garrity)

Davies

(new striker)

wouldn’t mind maybe another loan centre half and maybe a centre mid on top of that, that could cover at full back, ie a David Carson from Livingston?

Lyall describes himself as a tricky midfielder in his interview. Really happy with the players we have brought in so far. Have to think we'll next be looking at a centreback, left back, midfielder and a striker.

Always felt we lacked competition in the final 3rd last season with Crawford, Muirhead and Oakley regularly playing the full 90 even though they were clearly fecked.

Looks like we will have plenty of options from the bench with hopefully still a striker to come in.

Hopefully those who didn't buy season tickets are now encouraged enough to do so.
