  1. That would be a major kick in the stones if Oakley goes there. You would assume it will be a 2 year deal and more money than we are offering. Although, I do agree with a few in the sense I think he would be playing second fiddle to Graham who unfortunately is still a pain in the arse to play against at this level. Fingers crossed that would be enough to put him off. Get the cheque book out and sign him up Morton..
  2. POTY- Wilson for me. Just ahead of Mullen and Strapp. Wilsons contribution during that unbeaten period was outstanding and you see how much we miss him when he is unavailable. Goal of the season- Two real contenders. Oakley v Dundee United and Muirhead v Ayr (2nd goal), However I think I will go with Oakley's. An absolute beauty. Best Signing- Strapp was a crucial signing and was a big reason to our period of success, however Mullen edges it for me. Up until last few games I think he's been outstanding (btw I do not think he's been awful recently just not as consistent as he has been). Think going forward he will be crucial for us too, if he stays fit. Worst Signing- Steven Boyd. 2 year deal and on paper a signing that did not make sense. Tyler French has been poor, however I completely understand why we were in for him and was quite happy when he did sign. Most significant goal- Oakley away to Arbroath. Stopped the rot of league defeats in what really was a must win game even at that early point of the season. Best Game- If cup games count. Motherwell at Cappielow. A glorious evening. In terms of league, 2-3 at Tannadice. Worst Game- Probably the toughest question of them all. Partick 4-1 loss at Cappielow was rough to take. However, the Dunfermline Friday night defeat was toxic. I would probably go with that.
  3. Yikes that’s a bit steep. Heard last years event was a great success, however feel this year the price will put a lot of people off, myself included. Especially given the fact we face Inverness away the night before too. Doesn’t seem great value for money either considering it’s a paid bar at the event too.
  4. what ever happened to “the cowshed” btw? Do they only turn up for big games?
  5. Not been many times in the last 2 and a bit years that we can say the manager got it wrong. However, that was on Imrie today I feel. If the change pays off it’s absolute genius, however like someone has already mentioned it’s usually a car crash and was. French’ distribution is woeful at the best of times never mind as a central midfielder. Gillespie was also anonymous & Crawford was totally wasted out left. Thought Partick gave us a bit of a skelping in the first half and we improved a bit in the second. Do agree with Imrie in the sense that big chances change games. Blues has a good one first half, Muirhead and blues in the second half. The one I lost my head at was Mcgrattan at the back post from the cross into the box. He’s got to be absolutely screaming for that.
  6. an outstanding effort from every single player tonight. It’s the hope that bloody kills you. Thought Mullen, Broadfoot and Power were phenomenal, although I can’t help but feel Power should take one for the team and half the hearts player to stop their attack for the goal? Perhaps being harsh. Had our chances and gave it our all, that’s all you can ask for. Hopefully fans have watched that and will come back the team to push for play offs now. We more than deserve it. Overall emotions are absolutely gutted but extremely proud of this club and group of players. Closest I have seen us come to a Scottish cup semi final in my lifetime. Btw I would not have it any other way.
  7. Although we definitely did not deserve to win the game I certainly don’t think we deserved to lose it. They had one clear chance and a quality striker has taken it. What is extremely concerning is how much we are reliant on Oakley. Completely incapable of creating any threat in the final third without him. Record Without Oakley in the league this season: P10 W0 D4 L6 Goals scored 5. (0 in the last 5 without him 0-0 ICT (a), 0-0 airdrie (a), 0-0 Raith (a), 0-2 ICT (h), 0-1 Dundee Utd (h). Monday night could be an interesting one…
  8. Believe I questioned it last week, but I genuinely don’t think we have won a game this season that Oakley hasn’t been involved in? He is such a crucial player to us and plays that role in a way nobody else is capable of. Muirhead gave a lot of effort today but was not capable of the levels Oakley has achieved this season. Oakley will be a massive loss for the next few games and I just hope his injury isn’t long term or else I can see us hitting another sticky patch. Thankful that results today went our way Don’t think mcgrattan took his chance at all today either, I understand he hasn’t played much football recently especially from the start but he was extremely ineffective that I actually forgot he was on the pitch when he got hooked off. Macdonald is miles off it and I assume he is not fit. Looked a Really poor second goal to lose. Plaudits to Inverness who came with a game plan and played it perfectly and their antics e.g time wasting, diving, getting in the refs face, milking every bit of contact, won over the referee and added to our supports frustration which is exactly what they would have wanted.
  9. Would have taken that result before the game. Keeps momentum and the unbeaten run going. What is worth noting is that the last 3 games we have played without Oakley has resulted in three 0-0 scorelines with quite limited chances created. Come to think of it, have we won a game in which he hasn’t been involved this season? Hope his injury isn’t too bad as he is so crucial to the way we play. Same goes for big Wilson, who was excellent again until he had to go off. Power my motm tonight, sensational display.
  10. Would not be surprised if the QF ends up being the BBC Monday night slot. Just noticed that Aberdeen play midweek on the 13th in the league which rules them out of the Monday night. Can’t imagine the 2 games involving the OF will be the Monday either.
  11. Frustrating not to take maximum points today after what can only be described as one way traffic in the first half. Second half we fell of the pace a wee bit I thought, however did not look in any danger of conceding. How bannigan never got a second yellow is beyond me. Felt a bit like the Craig Napier show today. btw how much better did they look once they took Graham off? Totally different outfit.
  12. As comfortable day at the office as I can remember for a long time. Whole team were excellent and we really took the game to Ayr in the second half. Mullen was a spectator the full game and honestly can’t recall him having a save to make. What a turnaround it has been since the start of December, hats off to the management and players. Also nice wee cameo for Aiden Mcgeady today who sneaked off after being on the pitch for 12 minutes. Shame.
  13. That’s really quite concerning if we are letting 1/2 boys going out on loan and not bringing anyone else in. Everybody in the ground on Saturday could tell that we are in desperate need of a right back. Blues has been poor even in his games at CM this season so far IMO and he is definitely not our answer to the right back dilemma as last week showed. O’Connor I thought started season well at RB however you can tell he is far more comfortable at CB. He had a bit of a shocker last week tbf. Mcgrattan was great at RB against Ayr however he is so crucial to us in the front areas I’d hate for him to be papped at RB majority of the season. I really hope we can find someone to bring in within the loan market however it seems to be a position that many clubs are struggling with at the moment.
  14. Agree with this. Think a striker that offers something a bit different would be good business, you can tell Oakley gets a bit leggy towards the end of games and think a different type of striker could benefit us even to bring on for the last 15/20 mins of games. In a fantasy land I’d love us to bring in a RB,CB and ST but realistically think we will only bring in one defender. Whether that’s a RB or CB remains to be seen. Could possibly see us signing Doyle when he returns to full fitness tbh.
