Ross millen confirmed as released by raith. Really hope we manage to sign him.

Talk on PnB is that Strapp is signing  for Ayr or Dunfermline. Fucking give the guy what he deserves Morton.

We have a rumour!

Cammy Ballantyne has turned down a deal at Airdrie.

An Airdrie fan who appears to know something about it suggesting he's coming our way over on PandB.

Ayr, Raith and Partick also mentioned in that thread. Partick moreso. If we sign Ballantyne then have to assume Millen isn't coming in.

Dunfermline fans on Twitter highlighting a few 'Strapp' surnames following them.

I'd be absolutely outraged if another team in this division sign him.

I genuinely can't believe we offered him less money, especially when 3 of our "star" players who were offered more have left.

Partick have announce that Jack McMillan’s off, so I assume Ballantyne will be the natural replacement. Onto Plan P or Q by now, then.

Ballantyne would have been decent but if he is linked with Partick I would assume he would be off to them especially with them losing mcmillan.

Strapp signing for another Championship team would be a blow but not surprising, bit gutting to lose 4 of our best players all to other championship clubs but not unexpected tbh.

That's it exactly. It's disappointing but realistic. We are where we are: the cavalry isn't coming, there's nobody with a fat checkbook allowing us to run up losses. MCT has done very well to get Dalrada and other sponsors on board but that's what they are: sponsors. They're not a license to outspend clubs that just objectively have greater income and in many cases wealthy benefactors.

Whether or not offering Strapp less was the right decision remains to be seen. He could play 36 flawless games and lead Dunfermline to the title or he could get injured in August. But in my opinion Imrie has earned the right to build his own squad without people losing their minds over it. Whether our General Manager's negotiations, too, turn out to work is an open question, but I think the club hierarchy has also earned a level of trust here.

People need to remember: the Rae regime spent big and had very little to show for it at the end. Those years with genuinely impressive attendances and "a buzz about the place" were the exception, and didn't result in lasting success.

Maybe a Gourley moment but apparently Strapps mum is now following Dunfermline on twitter so looks like he’s away to them

The importance that some people fixate to 'which clubs a player's maw/aunt/dug follows', on the fetid shithole once known as Twitter, is bizarre.

The site is supposed to be a place for the extended 'family' of Morton supporters - having an affinity with people that you don't know, because you share a love of your local football club. It's not supposed to be about point scoring and showing how 'clever' or 'funny' you are, or just being downright rude and offensive to people you don't know, because you can get away with it. Unfortunately, it seems the classic case of people who have little standing/presence in real life, use this forum as a way of making themselves feel as if they are something. It's sad, and I've said that before..

So, having been on Morton forums for about 15 years I guess, I've had enough... well done t*ssers, another Morton supporter driven away. You can all feel happy at how 'clever' you are

Heard rumours that Quitongo is joining Strapp at Dunfermline, also just been mentioned on P&B as well. Fair play to his agent if true.

Daily record reporting Strapp set to join some Finnish side clearly his maw is following the wrong twitter accounts.

I generally accept it’s a done deal as soon as I see Scott Burns’ name attached to one of these rumours with the Record.

Given that he’s revealing this one and retweeting the Ballantyne story, that’s quite encouraging (in that Strapp going to Finland is the lesser of two evils).

Quitongo if fit would be a good signing for most teams in this league.

Unless it's for one of the very top sides like HJK, that's a strange one.

For all he's greatly admired by the vast majority of Ton fans, it's a bit weird that this doesn't seem to be widely shared elsewhere, as was also demonstrated last season when no one else snapped him even when he was fully fit. Hard to understand why he seems to struggle to get offers, or at least decent offers, in Scotland or even lower league England. Maybe is agent just isn't very good, who knows.

Think the highlighted point probably goes against the point of being a strange one? Given that it’s suggested nobody fancies him back here so he has to try his luck elsewhere.

I also don’t think that’s the case btw. I would be shocked if Strapp didn’t have offers elsewhere within Scotland. Something different though, good luck to him and wish him well. Would much rather he’s out there doing well than being a direct opponent in the same league.
