I’ll settle for a much-weakened team struggling at the bottom of the division before joining Falkirk in league 1 for a season or three. Although on the other hand, Firhill followed by a curry is a good day out and easy to get to, so don’t really want us in a league packed with distant teams like Ross County, Inverness, or any of the teams north of Dundee.

I don't like Partick at all but wouldn't want them to go bust - not that I think they will or would with the money floating about in sad, luvvie pockets.

Partick are like the annoying wee dick in school who always seemed to be the teachers pet, but wasn't very bright. 

I'd absolutely hate for them to go bust, but I'd love them to be relegated and fester in League One  for many years, fighting with Falkirk.

Thoughts on this? Stuart Bannigan played the full game and wasn’t substituted before the final whistle but was excused from taking a penalty in the shoot out because he was “injured”.

This begs the question as to why he wasn’t withdrawn before full time if he wasn’t fit to continue, and if he was fit to continue, why didn’t he take his penalty?

It’s an awful coincidence that a guy who missed a penalty in a high profile shoot out not so long ago can be excused next time a shoot out comes around, and in my opinion, opens things up to a degree of manipulation. Is it possible between full time and a penalty shoot out to declare a number of players injured so that only your most reliable step up, whilst your opponents are forced to rely on their less accomplished takers as the shoot out goes on?

This is genuinely something I’ve never seen before, and I’m unsure as to what the laws of the game are for a situation like this. The main thing of course is that those tramps lost the shoot out that really mattered to them, but the only way I can see how it’s acceptable for a player not to take a penalty when his turn arises is if he’s red carded during the penalty shoot out.

Unfortunately the rules allow for it.

In actual fact, they must have informed the ref that he was injured before the kicks started and, as both teams must have the same number of players participating in a penalty shootout, Peterhead had to withdraw one of theirs as well (same applies if a team had received a red card - the other team could only nominated 10 participants).

Completely with you on the suspect nature of the 'injury' particularly given the player involved.

I have these thoughts. Playing time with an injury is harder than scoring a penalty with an injury. Did he have some sort of minor injury during the game? Maybe pulled a tendon? I know that injury may not be felt under pressure. But there's always a little break before a penalty shootout, right? And during that break the injury (even a minor one) could have made itself felt, and that's why he was taken off the penalty shootout.
Question: was there an injury at all?

Seen that more than a few times down the years when somebody limps on because all the subs have been used. Worst one from a Morton point of view was Kevin Finlayson at Broadwood one night years back hobbling up and down the touchline for the last 25 minutes. From the little he could do he should have gone off regardless.
