I remember he showed promise early on, he played centre back at cappielow in one of those early season games where we were still squad building, and did quite well. But quite quickly looked out of his depth and it got worse from there. Very surprised he’s got another gig at this level.

Samuel’s goalscoring record is terrible. He also seems to have turned into the type of player whose first instinct is to throw himself to the ground, then consider actually playing football if that doesn’t work. I think he’d welcome an offer from us at this stage but I definitely wouldn’t be making it.

The points about the article amendment in relation to the share issue, the timing of the AGM in relation to the Dalrada break clause, and Bonar’s willingness to share the contract and forego shirt sponsorship are all really positive. I’m now fighting hard with myself to park my contempt for the conduct of some of our board members, and keep that separate from Bonar, Dalrada and the details of the deal. Barr seems like he wants out, and I wish him no ill whatsoever, but that will be best for both parties. Laird and Robinson have established themselves in Dalrada’s good books and are unfortunately going nowhere, so it looks like we’ll just have to swallow that for now. But I think it’s worth saying that the attitude of those two absolutely stinks. The arrogance and the contempt for members/fans they showed tonight are things I’ll remember of both of them. Bonar showed more willingness to offer transparency in a 10 minute call than the others have throughout this entire process. One of the board members (Duncan?) looking for sympathy for the time and effort they had to put in to create the FAQ document (they genuinely don’t see that’s because they initially withheld so much information, despite opening the vote) was infuriating. Hopefully their conduct throughout this process energises the membership and positive changes can be made as a result.

The other possibility implied by my comment is that many of those clapping like seals may be MCT members.

Having had a quick scan across the comments section of the club’s Facebook content (I know, I really shouldn’t have), it does seem like the discourse on this forum, for which members should take credit, will have been for nothing. The possibility is that many of those clapping like seals at the pound signs on offer may not be MCT members, but I’ve come to suspect the scrutiny of tonight’s meeting may be in vain.

Well they’re a source of income for the club, so I would’ve thought the answer would be every fan. Especially at a time when we’re considering a future without Dalrada, it’s bizarre to see a supporter speak so dismissively about a key revenue stream.
-
Wonder if that’s a confidential HR matter as well or if they didn’t want to announce it for fear of disrupting our league cup preparations.
-
What an infuriating document. Either the authors of that are gullible morons, or they think we are (it’s the latter). Most of their answers around the major concerns amount to - it’s fine because we’re telling you it’s fine. Even ignoring the obvious lies, there are now several parties pushing for this deal to go through, who are asking us for their trust in the absence of any safeguards. That would be ambitious enough, were they not championing the very people who have recently shown themselves to be untrustworthy in the most public of ways. Now we hear Dalrada want improved governance, so they turn to the disgraced Sam Robinson as their appointee on the board. No thanks.

What you’re spelling out is a no vote. A proposal is offered. Members vote to reject it for all the reasons you’ve mentioned. A new proposal is offered, or alternatives are sought. If enough people abstain, the initial (ridiculous) offer may pass without any scrutiny. Personally I’ll be waiting til the last day, but there are a lot of details which would need to be revealed, and concessions made, to get me close to voting for the current deal.
-
Which leads on to what many have been saying - that voting no to the proposed Dalrada deal surely doesn’t mean that we would be severing ties with Dalrada. There is a pre existing deal currently in place, which nobody at the club seems willing to answer any questions on, which includes shirt sponsorship. The cheek of them to be punting a new shirt with the sponsor’s name on it, while trying to spook everyone into believing that same sponsor is about to pull the plug. Some laugh if the new shirt is actually blank.
-
Agreed. And the silence from Robinson and Barr is a slap in the face to all of us.
-
Whilst I agree with you, my frustration is that voting either Yes or No will be done so blindly. Unfortunately I feel I have no choice but to vote No due to the lack of information available, and the obvious concerns highlighted throughout this thread. But I have no idea what the next steps are for MCT or Morton in the event of a No vote. I genuinely don’t think anyone involved is even planning for that possibility. Unfortunately I think that the motion will pass, as most people will vote Yes to the figure without engaging in the detail of the discussion.

Yeah let’s pause the debate over the future of the club until we get to the bottom of a rumour about some gym equipment being removed. Be gone.

My view on this statement is that it doesn’t include input from both MCT and GMFC. Several members of the MCT board have resigned rather than put their name to this. “…it was also agreed that the issue would be kept under wraps as tightly as possible…” Agreed by who? As an MCT member, I would expect any representative who withheld this information from us (and worse, from the manager) to resign immediately. If Barr and Robinson were told to conceal that information, or chose to do so, their position is untenable. This statement is an admission of guilt without naming names. If we’re foolish enough to believe that Dalrada’s only issue was the way it was done, let’s do it a different way - an EGM. If they cared about the club, as this statement claims, they would have walked already and spared everyone this chaos.

The club statement regarding the FIFA ban states that “This also does not impinge on our ability to renew contracts of players already at the club, whose contracts expire this summer.” Our priority is securing contract extensions for at least some of those players, before we know who we may need to identify replacements for. So regardless of the ban being lifted this week, we’re really no further forward if the Dalrada uncertainty means we can’t offer these contract extensions. I really hope the next updates we see are that a resolution to the boardroom situation has been reached. But with each passing day it’s more likely the next updates we see will be letting us know that some of our best players are joining our league rivals, again.
