capitanus
A novel thread for this time of year. We're all Morton supporters and very often in recent times a lot of the focus has been on things which are wrong with the club, from the owners and the way they have been running the club, to the management and the playing staff. What does everyone love about OUR club and what is the thing that keep you going back for more? Also, If there was something you would love to change about the club, what would it be and why? *insert signature here*

Ton in Shawlands
It's part of the identity & fabric of coming from Inverclyde. I've worked abroad and around the UK and haven't lived in Greenock much since the early 80's but still feel a connection back to the place which gets reinforced by visits to Cappielow. TRVMP
It's part of the identity & fabric of coming from Inverclyde. I've worked abroad and around the UK and haven't lived in Greenock much since the early 80's but still feel a connection back to the place which gets reinforced by visits to Cappielow. Living here in God's country, I feel much the same way, but if that was all it is I could just as easily find that attachment to Inverclyde in other ways, such as the Wanderers or something. So there has to be something else. First and foremost, I love football, and Morton were my introduction to live, in-person professional football. And they have a (pretty much) unbroken history going back almost 150 years, with all kinds of wonderful achievements (and hilarious failures) in that time. dunning1874
I love that our fans have remained true to to the aims stated by our founders way back in 1874, "that all meetings in connection with the Club be conducted on temperance principles." How proud we should be that any gathering of Morton fans continues to prevent the people of Greenock from drinking, with our leisurely enjoyment of the football keeping us from spending our days in the pub. DreamOakTree
For me it’s Cappielow, the Blue and White Hoops and the great memories they have given me with players like McGraw, Harper, Mason, Stevenson, the Great Danes, Ritchie, Thompson, Orr, McInnes, Lindbergh, Mahood, Rajamaki, Williams, Weatherson, Tidser, Peaso etc.

Alibi
You can change almost everything else in your life, but you never change your football team. Morton is my team, no matter how shite they sometimes are. "Any nation given the opportunity to regain its national sovereignty and which then rejects it is so far beneath contempt that it is hard to put words to it." steveoath
It was never about the football. Just time with my dad on the terrace. Plus the lower league #bantz MORTON - NEWCASTLE
vikingTON
The fans rioting because the team failed to follow up a Scottish Cup win with the league title in 1922 is not only the greatest moment in this club’s history but also of Scottish football as a whole. They’d be spinning in their rivet-filled graves at reading some of the birthday caird pish on this thread though. The site is supposed to be a place for the extended 'family' of Morton supporters - having an affinity with people that you don't know, because you share a love of your local football club. It's not supposed to be about point scoring and showing how 'clever' or 'funny' you are, or just being downright rude and offensive to people you don't know, because you can get away with it. Unfortunately, it seems the classic case of people who have little standing/presence in real life, use this forum as a way of making themselves feel as if they are something. It's sad, and I've said that before.. So, having been on Morton forums for about 15 years I guess, I've had enough... well done t*ssers, another Morton supporter driven away. You can all feel happy at how 'clever' you are
Ton4life
They are our team. Not linked to bigotry nor attached through success. Scotland would be a better place if more real football supporters followed their local team. I also like our home ground it smells of history. The hapless Junior outfits play down the road instead.
