I find it hard to believe that we're saving much money from 'mutually consenting' a contracted player because of injury; certainly not enough to sign a like for like replacement.

The site is supposed to be a place for the extended 'family' of Morton supporters - having an affinity with people that you don't know, because you share a love of your local football club. It's not supposed to be about point scoring and showing how 'clever' or 'funny' you are, or just being downright rude and offensive to people you don't know, because you can get away with it. Unfortunately, it seems the classic case of people who have little standing/presence in real life, use this forum as a way of making themselves feel as if they are something. It's sad, and I've said that before..

So, having been on Morton forums for about 15 years I guess, I've had enough... well done t*ssers, another Morton supporter driven away. You can all feel happy at how 'clever' you are

No chance he’d come to us, he’d fancy his chances of getting Juve’s 8th choice keeper out the #1 position anyway.

I can only assume Pearson’s injury is a long-term one and he wanted to go home, which is fair enough, but as VT says we’re unlikely to be saving much money.

Pearson needed a operation Club were unwilling to pay for it came to a mutual agreement with the Club... He's gone Home Should be a Keeper On Loan from down South in hopefully in the Next Few Day's or more...

Figure surgery would have been the catalyst.

It is shocking that if true that St Mirren and now Morton refusing to pay for ops for players professional clubs should have to have insurance to cover their players.

'Should'.

It's a systematic issue and pretty commonplace at this level.

I don't think the standard 'insurance' is anywhere near as comprehensive as you think it is. For there to be a range of rehab options for an injury is pretty commonplace and not all of them are going to fall under those terms (and shouldn't, otherwise the premiums would have to be ridiculous to cover all specialist and private options out there).

In fact didn't this just happen with another player at the club in the last 12 months? It seems like we've been through this debate already.

I could be wrong but I think the bulk of football insurance goes towards catastrophe cover - death, or injury that results in a permanent loss of earnings. I doubt even semi-regular injuries like ACLs are covered much.
