Jonatan Johansson Is The New Manager

How will the Scottish media recover from this? Duffy doesn't get his job back, so they're seething... but it's a Rangers-connected guy who gets it, so they can't immediately start undermining him. The Record will be particularly seething.

To be perfectly fair Steven Thompson, Kevin Thompson and someone else were being complimentary about the appointment when it was briefly mentioned on the radio earlier.

Good luck JJ! Interesting appointment and comes out with the realms of the typical Championship journeyman so that is good. Of course it’s a gamble, but every appointment is really.

He should know McHugh and MacLean from coaching at Motherwell, played with Millar at St Johnstone, knows the club and the area and the appointment clearly means something to his family which is great.

4 wins against Falkirk this season would be delightful to say the least. Hopefully he looks to continue with the way we’ve been playing but hopefully we’ll get that wee spark in front of goal that we are missing a wee bit.

Morton potentially tapping into the Finnish transfer market is proper nostalgic bliss aswell.

Already articles online speculating which Rangers players could arrive on loan in Jan. The obvious being Serge Atayki, his fellow countryman who is a highly-regarded winger and featured throughout pre-season (surely an upgrade on Tiffoney). Anyway, full of excitement and it will be nice not to be the whipping boys of Scottish Football Press. All-in-all we have been given a young ambitious manager with a longer contract and a new hatred that can replace the 4 games with that Paisley mob. Happy days.

TBH that doesn't work as a comeback as any device capable of receiving a pic in such a short amount of time is going to be a phone or a computer, both of which have zoom functions that render a magnifying glass pointless.

What you should have said was, "I thought that was an emoji."

Just when we all thought Salty would never return.  ;)

Salty. Now there's nostalgia.

Currently stinking out the juniors thread on P&B because he no longer supports Morton

What a loser

Not quite true Tom. He's not going back until the Raes are gone, like many others.

Sticking about on facebook to snake people worse than McKinnon did right enough.

Peter Weatherson is the greatest player since Ritchie, and should be assigned 'chairman for life'

Not that I give a fuck about what fans of other teams think, but normally when a team appoints a manager there's a fair amount of laughing and attempted wind ups over on P&B. It's been refreshing that it's been pretty much universally met with an 'interesting, nice one' response.

Both ex-Rangers so not surprising, but at the same time JJ seems to have very few detractors.

Wow! Did not see that one coming.

Pretty pleased with this appointment though.

I would've preferred someone with actual management experience, which is my only reservation.

Otherwise though im excited by this appointment and it sounds like he ticks alot of the other boxes on what we need.

Good luck JJ.

Thought he spoke very well in his interview with Jonathan.

Just came on to say that as well, great interview. Really looking forward to seeing what he can do now.

I had actually been wondering if he might have known a bit about Morton via Rajamaki and Lindberg signing as players, so nice to hear him speak about that.
