Pretty sure that they were just using any excuse to fob off such an utterly ridiculous ‘tip’ tbh.

The site is supposed to be a place for the extended 'family' of Morton supporters - having an affinity with people that you don't know, because you share a love of your local football club. It's not supposed to be about point scoring and showing how 'clever' or 'funny' you are, or just being downright rude and offensive to people you don't know, because you can get away with it. Unfortunately, it seems the classic case of people who have little standing/presence in real life, use this forum as a way of making themselves feel as if they are something. It's sad, and I've said that before..

So, having been on Morton forums for about 15 years I guess, I've had enough... well done t*ssers, another Morton supporter driven away. You can all feel happy at how 'clever' you are

Kevin (Derek?) Anderson was quite right, there are several good players in the Glasgow Sunday amateurs but there are also a lot of recreational players whom they're up against, so it's not going to show you how they are against an entire XI of decent opposition. Who were these 25 goals against, specifically?

I won't blame tidser at all if he leaves. He has been totally fucked about this season since Johansen came in. It will kill me to see him play against us and especially for Falkirk but lets be honest. If he has been offered a good deal by a manager who clearly values him as a player he would be mad not to take it and get the fuck away from this absolute shambles of a club.

We need a clear out starting from the very top.

There's a storm on the horizon

And for that I can't see the sun

For I'll keep a waiting on the pavement

For the ice cream van to come

Rookie mistake. Everyone knows all you need to do to get a deal at Morton is phone the manager directly.

To be charitable to DOT, this Dykes fella apparently shows that just being on the books of a pro club doesn't mean you're any good. Sometimes people play amateur just because they don't want to play on Saturdays, or to travel outside of their immediate area, for a low-end Junior club. Maybe they could be convinced by the SPFL. But it is an absolutely massive, MASSIVE jump, because although there are plenty of players with superb raw ability in the amateurs, things like fitness, teamwork, and consistent standard of opposition are generally lacking. A lot of players are simply unfit and thus anyone halfway decent will look like a world-beater against them.

I was a bit concerned about how a request of mine for a player to be watched or given a trial was handled by Morton. I contacted Warren Hawke to tell him a player just signed by my local amateur club Castlemilk Dinamos had scored 25 goals in his first 6 games and had a similar amount of assists, he’s 6’3”, Great in the air, fast and powerful. Warren told me to tell the player he would send a scout to watch him, which I did. Next thing I got a call from (Kevin?) Anderson saying that he’s in charge of scouting, and I’d need to get the player signed for a Junior Team before he’d consider having him watched. I explained to him that Warren had agreed with me that a natural goal scorer could score at any level as the service would improve. Anderson was adamant that the player would first need to prove himself at a higher level. This might be true, but I found the disconnect between the management team quite concerning.

You should be grateful they didn't tell you to piss off and stop wasting their time, to be honest about it.

Yes I did think that, though I had a decent relationship with the club as a previous match reporter for the website, which maybe got me a sympathetic hearing. I fully expected an amateur rant from VK though!

Previous match reporter for the website? I must have missed that one, the website had f*ck all for years before Jonathan turned up.

Hopkin has just resigned at Bradford. I'd be happy with him when we're in League 1.

Edit - in fact I'd be happy with him replacing JJ right now.

I'd be happy with Katie Fucking Hopkins* replacing JJ right now!

I realise he is Hopkin, she is Hopkins and only morons call him David Hopkins (not as big as those that call him 'Hoppy' though) but not a fuck given here.

Hopkin was my choice in the summer and I’d happily have him just now, I’m not sure if he’d still be willing to come near us though. Will likely still have his sights set on more money in England.

He’s just walked away from a contract. Money doesn’t seem to be his motivation.

He's on the Sunday Times Rich List, sometimes he'll order a second Peroni even before finishing the first one because he's that wealthy.

'If he has been offered a good deal by a manager who clearly values him as a player he would be mad not to take it and get the **** away from this absolute shambles of a club'.

Is this not what Ray McKinnon did and what we would all do given the same circumstances in our own careers. If we weren't all such a bunch of hypocrites to admit that.

Cue the burger flipper guy who is 'popular' (ffs.....sycophancy at its finest) coming on with a 'bellend' type comment.

Maybe he's developed  (tobias or summit?) as a human being, S'ppose you can't live your whole life with a personality akin to a wet nappy.

Nah. It was the underhand way that he and Falkirk went about it that was the problem. Had he told Crawford that he wanted to leave (he lied and said that he didn’t) and had Falkirk offered a reasonable sum in compensation (they decided unilaterally to rewrite the law of contract instead), it wouldn’t be nearly as bad (though would still stick in the throat a bit).

Pretty much this. I'd like to think that not everyone is this dishonest.
