Ayr v The Famous: Scottish Cup

Recommended Posts

Disappointed not to see a thread on this game yet, and doubly so to discover that 'The Little People' doesn't fit into the thread title limit. Sad!

Given two attritional games between sides so far and a free week for our players carrying knocks and Ballantyne to recover, I see no reason why we can't deliver a swording here. We're not favourites but it's a cup tie that we now have a decent chance of progressing from regardless.

Q: Do replays still exist at this stage or is it settled tomorrow?

Fun fact: Unlike the visitors, who Famously lifted the prestigious trophy in 1922, 'Ayr United' are a historic, all-time failure of a franchise outfit with zero significant trophies to their name. Sad!

The site is supposed to be a place for the extended 'family' of Morton supporters - having an affinity with people that you don't know, because you share a love of your local football club. It's not supposed to be about point scoring and showing how 'clever' or 'funny' you are, or just being downright rude and offensive to people you don't know, because you can get away with it. Unfortunately, it seems the classic case of people who have little standing/presence in real life, use this forum as a way of making themselves feel as if they are something. It's sad, and I've said that before..

So, having been on Morton forums for about 15 years I guess, I've had enough... well done t*ssers, another Morton supporter driven away. You can all feel happy at how 'clever' you are

Going to be good getting to the end of the season and seeing how many players have actually been available for 75% for it, considering that was Dale's magic mineral target.

This season's Championship.

As for the game, we have to just go for it. I take a little hope in some recent unglamourous ties where we ended up going through (Dunfermline away, Dunfermline at home, ICT away - with a replay and a huff about "being cold").

McGhee needs some support, there's no-one backing him up.
Hayes playing it forward, Bell being forced to do it all alone, now forward from Marr, here's Ritchie, still Andy Ritchie, look at the control...

That is a marvellous goal from Andy Ritchie. Twenty minutes on the clock and Morton's supporters come alive. A goal which epitomises the control, the arrogance, the cheek of Andy Ritchie.

I've a rare Saturday off but can't muster enough enthusiasm to go to this.  Still fairly confident of a win all the same.

Twenty years ago we'd have been in Ayr around 11am, pub-crawling our way from the station to the ground.

Going on Imrie's reaction it appears that it's someone important that's been injured. Hopefully not Wilson.

Stuparevic out for 2-3 weeks - injured in training.

Bought the stream, only a tenner. However says that ko is now 345pm. Strange as no mention of that anywhere else so maybe an error on their website. Can anyone clarify?

We were the better team in the first half hour and should have been a goal up, but we've just got progressively worse since then. We've fallen out the game completely now and the goal has been coming for a while.

Feel like this has been a feature of our season. Just can't see how we get back into this - we're not capable of playing it out from the back today and nothing is sticking up front either. Get the feeling out only possible chance is Ayr getting nervy.
