TRVMP
Good news about Thomson, best of luck to him. Jacobs is apparently a no-nonsense player, not great on the ball but very athletic, according to Queens fans. If he can be a midfield spoiler then that would fit in with what Hopkin's teams have generally done.
port-ton
With this signing and Lyon signed up i just can't see us keeping on Tidser, Millar and Mcalister. Obviously the most likely to leave is Tidser but if we manage to keep him i'd probably choose Millar over Mcalister. Good people will do good things, bad people will do bad things, but only with religion do good people do bad things!
TONofmemories
Mcalister showed his worth at the back towards the end. Play him there. TIME FOR CHANGE!

Hopkin has described him as being able to play across the back line too, but I would be surprised if we kept all of Millar, Tidser and McAlister. It's out of our hands whether we do or not keep all 3 (other than Tidser who we chose to offer to despite offers being in for the other 2). vikingTON
Good signing IMO, we've been missing someone to engage in some proper shithousery in the middle of the park for years. The site is supposed to be a place for the extended 'family' of Morton supporters - having an affinity with people that you don't know, because you share a love of your local football club. It's not supposed to be about point scoring and showing how 'clever' or 'funny' you are, or just being downright rude and offensive to people you don't know, because you can get away with it. Unfortunately, it seems the classic case of people who have little standing/presence in real life, use this forum as a way of making themselves feel as if they are something. It's sad, and I've said that before.. So, having been on Morton forums for about 15 years I guess, I've had enough... well done t*ssers, another Morton supporter driven away. You can all feel happy at how 'clever' you are
Jamie_M
Thomson considering his options outside football and likely going part time in a surprise to absolutely nobody. The only surprising part is how it even still got to the stage of us offering him a full time deal with him taking a few days to tell us the obvious. Glad that chapter is closed. Tonton Zola Moukoko
Mcalister showed his worth at the back towards the end. Play him there. Jim at centre back may not be the choice a lot of fans would make but if we are looking at a small squad then having players that can play more than one role could be crucial. From what I’ve understood it’s one of the reasons that Kyle Jacobs is being brought in.
TONofmemories
One thing id like to see stop is the constant 'smaller budget' reference in every interview. We get it TIME FOR CHANGE!
vikingTON
I expect McAlister to be playing wing-back most often in a 3-5-2 next season; Jacobs has played that role as well so we'd have versatility in those positions instead of just signing four shan wide players to compete for two spaces as usual. It makes even better sense as a signing the more you think about it, and is a statement of intent in terms of actually playing a high-energy style next season when our current midfield option didn't exactly look suited to it. Mr.Blue
Pleased with the Jacobs signing. Can't say I remember much of him but the Queen's fans seem to rate him. Malt
Hopefully he is a dirty bastard in midfield.
suda
McAlister looked useful on the left side of a back three tail end of the season and it also got him out of that midfield quagmire, if Tidser does stay then Millar looks like the weak and presumably expensive link in the equation. Which is a shame he's still got at least a year left in him and he's been a good player for us but time to be ruthless, only worry is he could do a good job for a championship rival looking for that type of player. We can't be 'ruthless' with him. We were legally obligated to offer him an extension.
