Agreed and the locals are tremendous value.

Wasn't there once a smashing little clothes shop called Uptown Girl in that neck of the woods? Independent traders used to the be the lifeblood of 50% unemployed towns like Cowden, Lochgelly etc. Lot of them used to think Noel's House Party was high culture!

Sat in the bar on the corner near the ground. About a dozen locals but only saw two different faces among them.

McGhee needs some support, there's no-one backing him up.
Hayes playing it forward, Bell being forced to do it all alone, now forward from Marr, here's Ritchie, still Andy Ritchie, look at the control...

That is a marvellous goal from Andy Ritchie. Twenty minutes on the clock and Morton's supporters come alive. A goal which epitomises the control, the arrogance, the cheek of Andy Ritchie.

January 30th

2000 - Morton 1-1 Brechin City (Anderson)

A John Anderson goal earned us a replay which would not be played until the 8th February.

1999 - Morton 1-0 Stranraer (Twaddle)

http://youtu.be/hnncba6iUFI

1993 - LIvingston 1-1 Morton (McArthur)

1988 - Queen of the South 1-2 Morton (Robertson, Alexander)

Our only away win of the season as we took a break from being pumped in the Premier to book a trip to Tyncastle for the next round.

1985 - Rangers 3-1 Morton (Sullivan)

The replay of the "snow game" from earlier.

http://youtu.be/QhwKcxzQ0qg

1982 - Morton 0-0 Partick Thistle

Others - in 1960 we lost 1-0 at home to East Stirlingshire in the cup.

1937 we beat Murrayfield amateurs 6-1 in a cup replay.

1943 - we beat Albion Rovers 5-1 in the Scottish Southern League, a war-time league set up. We'd finish as league runners up behind Rangers.

McGhee needs some support, there's no-one backing him up.
Hayes playing it forward, Bell being forced to do it all alone, now forward from Marr, here's Ritchie, still Andy Ritchie, look at the control...

January 31st -

2015 - Forfar 1-2 Morton (McKee, MacDonald)

The title charge continues...

http://youtu.be/2SWPDRa2YaE

2009 - Morton 0-0 St. Johnstone

2004 - Arbroath 2-2 Morton (Williams, Weatherson)

We let more ground slip as the crack appear in our title hopes.

1998 - Partick Thistle 3-3 Morton (Reid, Duffield, Twaddle)

Brian Reid only ever seemed to score against Partick, and they hated him.

This I remember for the fact that a group of us made a day of it in Glasgow. After a dull-ish start and the score still 0-0 one of my mates went for a pie, and we shoved money in his hand and gave him multiple orders. When he came back out from under the stand we were leading 2-1 and he was miffed at having missed 3 goals. Our celebrations at going 3-1 up caused one of us to knock his pie flying.

Morton being Morton chucked away a two goal lead against a side who had looked well beaten.

1996 - St. Mirren 0-1 Morton (Cormack)

The night Peter was forgiven all previous sins. A peach of a finish past a keeper who ought to have been sent off in the first half.

1995 - Morton 1-2 Kilmarnock (Anderson)

Cup replay against a team two leagues above. Leading through a John Anderson header, Alan Mahood passed up a gift of a chance to make it 2-0. Alex Totten (who had knack of managing to beat us) stuck on Steve Maskrey. Killie forced extra time and went on to win it as we visibly tired.

http://youtu.be/t1D6lBEH-0k

1987 - Berwick Rangers 0-2 Morton (Alexander, McNeil)

Taking a break from our title push, we got the job done. The draw gave us St. Mirren at home.

1981 - Morton 1-0 Kilmarnock (Rooney)

Couple of older ones which stand out -

1970 - Dundee United 5-4 Morton

1914 - Airdrieonians 7-1 Morton

McGhee needs some support, there's no-one backing him up.

AT, re the 1998 partick game: Your pal must've been in the same queue as a uni pal of mine who I took along to the game! Likewise he missed the first three goals and I am sure he returned from the toilet to see our third hit the back of the net.

February 1st -

2014 - Falkirk 1-1 Morton (Imrie)

Here's Falkirk's overly-long highlights.

http://youtu.be/zQS6WOHD-BI

1997 - St. Johnstone 1-0 Morton

Game delayed for nearly 45 minutes as the Morton team bus was stuck in a traffic jam. Great scenes behind the goal when Wylie saved the first half penalty.

http://youtu.be/0fTUA5YL3_o

1994 - Airdrieonians 2-2 Morton (McEwan 2)

A rare away point in that relegation season.

1992 - Hamilton 0-0 Morton

1989 - Airdrieonians 0-1 Morton (John Boag)

A cracking cup replay at Broomfield. Just before the break, John Boag collected a short corner, turned and dribbled into the box before sticking it under John Martin at his near post, causing bedlam in Section A. We played the second half mostly on the break as they pushed for an equaliser. Was funny seeing John Martin coming up for a couple of injury time corners.

1986 - Airdrieonians 1-2 Morton (Doak, Robertson)

Our "season of two halves" continued its revival.

1975 - Morton 1-1 Rangers (Hazel)

1964 - East Fife 3-1 Morton (Campbell)

Our only league defeat of the season.

1936 - Morton 11-1 Blairgowrie (Scottish Cup)

McGhee needs some support, there's no-one backing him up.

I'm one of the wee guys behind the goal going bush when Wylie saves the penalty. Remember getting back on the bus and someone's arse had collapsed in the wee toilet at the back of the bus. Terrible first hour of the journey home.

Well in putting these clips up AT  :thumbup2:

Cheers.

We had an unpleasant trip back from Methil one Tuesday night. Heaters on the bus were broken and everyone sat shivering for two hours, with one guy at the back shouting “are the heaters on yet?” every 10 minutes.

2016 - Morton 0-1 Hibernian

2008 - Morton 0-2 Queen of the South

Our reward for seeing off Gretna in the previous round. There were full highlights on Sportscene. Sean O'Connor scored a header at the start of the second half and with Weatherson and Wake struggling to put away any chances, we were caught on the break late on. Queens got to the final that season, beating Aberdeen 4-3 in the semi. Game was notable only for the Queens fan getting lifted for being naked in the WDE.

2002 - Hamilton 2-1 Morton (Chris Aitken)

1991 - Morton 0-0 Falkirk

1985 - Rangers 2-0 Morton

1974 - Morton 0-3 Falkirk

1924 - Morton 1-0 Celtic (Brown)

1895 - Morton 4-3 Port Glasgow Athletic

A couple of months earlier, PGA had beaten us 9-1.

2013 - Dundee 5-1 Morton (Tidser)

Having seen of both Albion Rovers and Turriff United after replays, we travelled to Dens for the 5th round. Level at the break, we capitulated in the second half. There was a clip on Sportscene which thankfully hasn't made its way onto youtube. Jim McAllister scored Dundee's 1st.

2007 - Motherwell 2-0 Morton

Having seen off Killie in the previous round, we took a following of nearly 4000 to Fir Park. Spirited display from the team but ultimately they were too strong for us.

2001 Morton 1-1 Alloa Athletic (Whalen)

http://youtu.be/miodJ0lNYEw

1990 - Morton 2-0 Alloa Athletic (O'Hara, McNeil)

1975 - Morton 0-3 Aridrieonians

Scottish Cup 3rd round replay

1974 - Morton 1-0 Raith Rovers (Johnstone)

Scottish Cup 3rd round replay

1973 - Hibernian 2-0 Morton

Scottish Cup 3rd round

Also,

1894 - Abercorn 2-1 Morton

A result from our first ever league season. Abercorn were from Paisley.

McGhee needs some support, there's no-one backing him up.

Incredible support that day. Think we had about 5000 at home to killie the round before. If we drew Motherwell away rather than Dumbarton at home this year, we would be lucky to take 500-600.

Changed days.

Doesn't seem like 11 years have passed. Your right about our decline in interest. Can't see us winning back those numbers anytime soon.

Don’t know why we took so many that day, but in the pub before it there were loads of Celtic and Rangers fans from Greenock who never went to Cappielow.

Rangers were knocked out by Dunfermline the day after we beat Killie, Celtic's game at Livingston was the day after our Motherwell game, so I guess the bigot brothers had nothing else to do that day.
