Would happily have took him before we signed McHugh.

Good striker for this level.

He only scored 8 goals last season, none since February, and is getting on a bit. Better than the likes of Kudus but I'm happier with Bob.

Bob only scored 3 league goals.

I'm not complaining with Bob, I'm happy with him but i still think Baird is a decent striker for this level and will score a fair amount of goals for ICT.  He has scored just under 50 goals over the last 3 1/2 years so is certainly proven at this level.

Would have been happy with either of them.

Agreed with this, as long as Baird is still relatively fit he'll be alright.

I'd have been happy with both mchugh or Baird. Both are much better than what we had last season. Mchugh hasn't scored many goals recently so hopefully he comes feeling that he's got a point to prove.

There's a storm on the horizon

And for that I can't see the sun

For I'll keep a waiting on the pavement

For the ice cream van to come

I'm much happier with McHugh than Baird, personally. The consensus from fans of his previous clubs is that Baird is hopeless from the bench and really needs a regular run of games to do well, while McHugh made himself a reputation for scoring some crucial goals from the bench at Falkirk, for all that he didn't manage many last season.

Considering that we're talking about the third choice centre forward here and only a long-term injury or a big offer for Quitongo is likely to see that forward getting a consistent run of starts, I think McHugh's much better suited to the role. Obviously he isn't going to be happy to be considered just third choice and wants to get rid of the 'super-sub' reputation by earning a place in the starting XI but I'd prefer to have someone with a reputation for working hard to prove themselves from the bench, rather than someone like Baird with a reputation for taking the huff when he isn't guaranteed a start.

Oh Lord, Brian Wake

McHugh is younger and a better player too. Baird would have been an inferior signing I'm sure.

Peter Weatherson is the greatest player since Ritchie, and should be assigned 'chairman for life'

Watch them do fuck all as Dunfermline join the rest of the Bumpkin 'Kingdom' in the seaside leagues. Next.

The site is supposed to be a place for the extended 'family' of Morton supporters - having an affinity with people that you don't know, because you share a love of your local football club. It's not supposed to be about point scoring and showing how 'clever' or 'funny' you are, or just being downright rude and offensive to people you don't know, because you can get away with it. Unfortunately, it seems the classic case of people who have little standing/presence in real life, use this forum as a way of making themselves feel as if they are something. It's sad, and I've said that before..

So, having been on Morton forums for about 15 years I guess, I've had enough... well done t*ssers, another Morton supporter driven away. You can all feel happy at how 'clever' you are

Watch them score 40 goals between them this season... :o

Agreed, five training sessions a week across eight months, carry the one... as long as they stay behind after the goalkeepers start their warm-down they should manage that.

Shankland and McManus...

lololol

That's a forward line destined to go all heads down on a regular basis.

McGhee needs some support, there's no-one backing him up.
Hayes playing it forward, Bell being forced to do it all alone, now forward from Marr, here's Ritchie, still Andy Ritchie, look at the control...

That is a marvellous goal from Andy Ritchie. Twenty minutes on the clock and Morton's supporters come alive. A goal which epitomises the control, the arrogance, the cheek of Andy Ritchie.

They're apparently aiming to bin Fon Williams but also a few of their high earners who are actually decent players. They'll be having a 'consolidation' season at best, so hopefully we can rack up a few wins against them for a change.
