Championship 2018-19 Thread

Dundee Utd twitter account hacked by Rangers fan half way through the game. Full of sectarian tweets. Utd had to delete their twitter feed.

That was actually quite funny. Seems their Facebook page was attacked too.

There are screenshots of it on P&B, starting on the page below.

McGhee needs some support, there's no-one backing him up.
Hayes playing it forward, Bell being forced to do it all alone, now forward from Marr, here's Ritchie, still Andy Ritchie, look at the control...

That is a marvellous goal from Andy Ritchie. Twenty minutes on the clock and Morton's supporters come alive. A goal which epitomises the control, the arrogance, the cheek of Andy Ritchie.

If we had missed 4 penalties out of 4 there would be all sorts of match-fixing allegations.

Quite remarkable to achieve such a feat, don't recall ever seeing it before. That said, bitterly disappointed as I was convinced they'd have enough in the tank to take care of St Mirren over two legs. Missing the derby matches, hopefully draw them in a cup.

Barcelona missed every penalty in the 1986 European Cup Final penalty shoot out against Steaua Bucharest and Morton missed a ridiculous number of penalties in a row (9-10? Someone older than me will know the exact figure) around 1989.

Eight. All in 1989.

Feb 25th -  Tommy Turner at Forfar, saved by Kennedy. Ended 0-0.

Mar 1st - Tommy Turner v Kilmarnock, saved by McCulloch. Ended 2-2.

Mar 4th - John McNeil v Partick Thistle, saved by Murdoch, Ended 1-1.

Mar 22nd - John Spencer v St. Johnstone, saved by Balavage (although we scored from the corner). Ended 2-2.

Mar 27th - John McNeil at St. Johnstone, hit the bar and the rebound header was turner over (again, we scored from the corner). Ended 2-3.

Apr 4th - Ian Clinging v Clydebank, hit the underside of the bar and bounced clear. Ended 1-0.

Apr 8th - Rowan Alexander at Queen of the South, at 1-0 up. Saved by Cunningham. Ended 1-1.

Sep 2nd - John Boag v Airdrie, terrible effort saved by Martin. Ended 0-1.

Worth pointing out that in May that year we actually scored all 5 in a penalty shoot out in the final of the Renfrewshire Cup at Cappielow. Scorers were - John Fowler, Archie McGeachie, John Boag, Derek McInnes and Jimmy Boag.

The rut officially ended in March 1990 when John Fowler scored one in a 2-0 home win over Forfar.

That is the most boring post in the history of this forum.

At long last our dugouts have been destroyed and we are getting a " modern area with fixed seating "

I've always hated our dugouts so i'm looking forward to seeing what it's like now.

Good people will do good things, bad people will do bad things, but only with religion do good people do bad things!

Partick statement.

Interestingly they had at least a 1 million budget last season. Incredible to think how poor they were considering the finances available to Archibald.

They have also stated the budget will be the same for this year.

Would be interesting to hear how ours compares, would be amazed if we were more than 60% of that.

I take it this was in the Tele? The online version is always days behind. I'm curious to see that they come up with, as it's a pretty small area to work with.

It was on the club's twitter page. I'm posting on here on my work computer which i can't access twitter through so couldn't link it.

Says fixed seating will be put in place. I imagine they'll be putting in seats similar to most teams that are like car seats and make the dugouts wider. Shame to see them go tbh. I liked the old style about them. Bit like the turnstiles!

I wonder what impact the new dugouts will have on the disabled section of the ground?

Could imagine that they may at least affect the view, if not the capacity- which is limited enough, at least from what I can see from standing in the Cowshed.

Perhaps a good idea to have a section at the front of the Cowshed seating area adapted to a disabled section, although that might pose a problem for any disabled away fans.

Really no idea what they're doing but I noticed there's a lot more room on the home side of the dugout. Could both dugouts potentially be moved to that side? Donno if that would work or if both dugouts need to be at the half way line or not.

The tunnel is right there so i'm not sure they can.

Does the club not still have a Disabilty Access Officer?

There's a video of them starting the work on Facebook. It doesn't look as if they're making them wider.

Home one is wider
