Ffs maybe he decided  on the 6 month deal. Give the guy a chance.

Being sceptical about a signing based on their record is not writing them off or failing to give them a chance.

Alternatively - being sceptical about a poster based on their record is not writing them off or failing to give them a chance.

Whatever the reason for the 6 month contract, it probably makes sense.  If he turns out to be any good, I'm sure he would agree to an extension.

If he's good then any team that's struggling for goals or near the bottom of the table in January will chuck a larger contract at him than we can afford to match. Most likely Dunfermline given their equally questionable business to date.

The key issue is that we're not completing this deal to complement an already functioning side. This is a gamble that has to pay off given the nick we've seen so far - and leaves us potentially needing a second gamble in January. That's not the player's fault at all but you can't exclude that context from the discussion.

The site is supposed to be a place for the extended 'family' of Morton supporters - having an affinity with people that you don't know, because you share a love of your local football club. It's not supposed to be about point scoring and showing how 'clever' or 'funny' you are, or just being downright rude and offensive to people you don't know, because you can get away with it. Unfortunately, it seems the classic case of people who have little standing/presence in real life, use this forum as a way of making themselves feel as if they are something. It's sad, and I've said that before..

So, having been on Morton forums for about 15 years I guess, I've had enough... well done t*ssers, another Morton supporter driven away. You can all feel happy at how 'clever' you are

Are there many down at it? Can't help but think a Tuesday morning session isn't going to attract many people along.

I'm not there but hearing there's a decent crowd. Summer holidays will mean lots of kids.

Good on the club putting it on, I remember my brother taking me to one of these sessions, back with the Sports Connection strips, and have been hooked ever since!

Interesting that JET says he's here as a striker and to score/ create goals which he didn't have the opportunity to do at his last club as he was played in central midfield.

Yeah that is what I thought too. Puts a bit of a spin on his stats last season if he was actually playing in midfield rather than up front.

I've been told we're close to signing Mackenzie Carse from Celtic...

Could be nonsense but it's a rumour at least.

Signs for Coleraine in Northern Ireland, another one to score off the list for centre mid. Celtic B captain the last 3 seasons so would’ve definitely been an encouraging signing, I wonder if with rangers B playing at cappielow again in this years cup we could see maybe a loan or two from them again? I know Jack harkness never worked for obvious reasons but could be a connection we could use for either a sitting midfielder, defensive cover or another option uptop.

Very similar to Oakley and Muirhead in the sense that they felt they were held back from scoring goals before Imrie assured them they'd be allowed the freedom to do what they're good at. Over to him now.

Good to see the likes of Boyes and Baird both training hopefully the knocks aren't to bad and may see them in the for Saturday, shudder at the though of Broadfoot even though he was OK on Saturday.

Still no word on Shaw forgot he was even here at this stage injury must be taking its time, I know Imrie did say hope he would be fit for the league campaign so hopefully not to far away mind you not having any of pre-season might mean it will be a longer lay off.

Very reminiscent of the kudos oyenuga signing. Got to hope imrie can get a tune out of him but the 6 month deal looks like it could be a desperation signing

No. A desperation signing would be Ali Crawford.

Ali Crawford signed on a six month deal with an option to sign for the rest of the season.

Had a feeling this was going to happen but I can't see the need for signing Crawford. Not even judging him on his last spell moreso that we don't need that type of player.
