  1. For those of you that don’t follow the stock market in great detail (does anyone?) it is worth noting that Dalrada shares have tanked in recent weeks. They were trading at 40cents per share. They have been sliding (most notably there was a sudden drop on the day they announced that Ross Gourdie’s wife was the new chief of staff) and reached a bottom figure of less than 1 cent per share (you could buy three shares for a cent). They are currently at 1.1 cent per share. This suggests that the market believes that the company is in dire financial trouble. I hope the board has a plan B if Dalrada goes under. It may come to nothing, but it’s worth keeping an eye on this. I’d assume that the club has contracts with Dalrada, but they would prove worthless if the company goes under.
  2. Is anyone following the fun and games at Hamilton? Players are not being paid (again). Rumours abound that they have been served an eviction notice to leave NDP. Hospitality under threat as they apparently owe the caterers £100k. This is what happens when you budget to make a loss in the hope (dream) of getting promoted.
  3. And Strapp off injured before half time.
  4. Lewis Strapp doing us a favour by scoring an OG for Livingston.
  5. Did the club not advertise a few weeks ago for 2 volunteers with some form of food hygiene qualification? Everyone assumed at the time that it was for hospitality. Hindsight is great, but we needed 2 volunteers and we have 2 pie stalls. Maybe 2 plus 2 makes 5, but maybe the club has been aware of the issue (if there is one) for a while. Regardless, it seems harsh to sack maybe 8 people because one person was dipping the till. Unless they were all at it, but that seems very unlikely.
  6. I’m told that Dale has sacked all the pie stall staff and brought in “his people” to replace them.
  7. A good night at the MCT event last night. A few ex players were there (more than the club could find to celebrate the 150th) including Jim McAllister who flew in from the Middle East for the event. One notable point was that none of the supposed MCT reps on the Morton board were there. This, together with comments at the AGM, makes me wonder if there is a disconnect between the membership and the club board.
  8. I wonder how long it will be before the GM changes his mind on going cashless and admits that he is totally out of touch with the Inverclyde fan base. An apology would be asking too much. The pricing of the dinner and it being black tie are two examples that come to mind. I’m sure there are more.
  9. It’s a slimmed down version of a heavy switch.
  10. A view from the terrace tonight (or on BBC iPlayer) has a good feature on Morton, MCT, and specifically Graham McLennan. Well worth a watch (it starts about 20 minutes into the programme)
  11. Motherwell fans say he’s a good player but a bit on the lazy side. Compared to JET, he’ll be like Usain Bolt! Hopefully Imrie works his usual magic and gets an extra 10% effort from him.
  12. Academy graduate Josh Cooper comes on as a sub for Dunfermline against Raith
  13. The club may choose to delay the announcement until international clearance comes through, or until just before team lines are exchanged today. As long as the transfer has been submitted to the SFA before the deadline, it will be allowed. Clearance can take a couple of days at the deadline.
  14. I’m hearing from friends in Ireland that we may be about to sign Niall McGinn. They don’t know if it’s a loan or transfer. Take it with a pinch of salt, as the Chairman promised us that we wouldn’t be signing old players who just want a last payday at Cappielow, and I’m sure he wouldn’t lie to us (except about Broadfoot of course). I don’t know much about McGinn since he went to Ireland. Does he have anything left?
