Did the club not advertise a few weeks ago for 2 volunteers with some form of food hygiene qualification? Everyone assumed at the time that it was for hospitality. Hindsight is great, but we needed 2 volunteers and we have 2 pie stalls. Maybe 2 plus 2 makes 5, but maybe the club has been aware of the issue (if there is one) for a while. Regardless, it seems harsh to sack maybe 8 people because one person was dipping the till. Unless they were all at it, but that seems very unlikely.
