The manager sees the players train all week and if he doesn't think Davies can contribute towards a goal when 3-2 down in the closing stages then that's enough evidence to judge. We don't need to waste minutes just to let fans see what the coach already knows.

The site is supposed to be a place for the extended 'family' of Morton supporters - having an affinity with people that you don't know, because you share a love of your local football club. It's not supposed to be about point scoring and showing how 'clever' or 'funny' you are, or just being downright rude and offensive to people you don't know, because you can get away with it. Unfortunately, it seems the classic case of people who have little standing/presence in real life, use this forum as a way of making themselves feel as if they are something. It's sad, and I've said that before..

So, having been on Morton forums for about 15 years I guess, I've had enough... well done t*ssers, another Morton supporter driven away. You can all feel happy at how 'clever' you are

The same manager that signed him? Presumably after watching him?

The same manager that scouted him, got him on a pre-contract and gave him a 2 year deal.

Indeed. So are you wanting him to triple down on that decision by giving him unmerited game time?

Doesn't seem like a logical argument to me.

Whatever. But it does demonstrate that Mr Imrie is particularly poor at assessing potential talent thereby costing the club a considerable amount of money. And not very good at coaching in order to improve players. Maybe that's why he reverts to signing the aged? Or his mates? Hence why we're heading inexorably to the bottom of the league.

It only demonstrates that, if you can identify a cohort of managers who have never signed a total dud in his career.

The rest of your snider post is not worth analysing at all - simply your claim to factual observation which is demonstrably total bollocks.

Well, by this standard he's tripling down on Reynolds. We all already know he can't contribute anything either, but he's getting minutes in every game.

It's maybe nothing as the meaning is unclear, but there's a potentially very concerning comment in Imrie’s match preview for today.

"It's been a summer with a big transition in terms of players coming and going, how pleased have you been with the business that's been done so far?"

"Yeah really really pleased. As a manager you're always looking to add, unfortunately we don't have that scope to do that, but again..." he then goes on to thank the board for increasing the budget in the summer.

If he's just talking in general terms there about not having the budget to compete with other Championship clubs so we missed out on some players he wanted to add throughout the summer, fine.

If he actually means the budget is now fully spent so he can't sign anyone else then that is a disaster when we still have no centre forwards worthy of the name and only two full backs. It would make the McGinn signing even worse if he's prioritised him over finding an actual striker.

I think McGinn brings us back up to 22 (if you include O'Boy). Don't see more being added unless the likes of King or Garrity get decent League 1 loan deals lined up.

Why an earth would Garrity be loaned out to a league one club? He has started every game this season and has been one of the positives so far.

He really isn't, given that Reynolds

• wasn't 'scouted'/headhunted to join the club in January at all

• didn't sign a pre contract agreement back then either

• wasn't signed on a two year deal

But other than that yes, those situations are definitely equivalent and you're not just boring everyone with your 10 Hot Takes From That Livingston Game I Went To.

I think he'll drop down Imrie's pecking order for the attacking midfield positions now.

I know I'm in a minority with this one, (given that he's the most exiting youth player we've had in a while) but I think he's too raw to be starting games in the Championship. A year in league one would do him good.

Our hopes of bringing in another striker could be a little more complicated with Anton Dowds now out for the season and Ayr looking for another striker.

Would be a shame if G. Oakley suffered a non- career-threatening injury in training this week…

Lewis Vaughan looks to have taken another bad one yesterday as well.

A tiny, tiny shame for both. I wish them well in their recoveries :) .

Lol. Nothing against Dowds but Vaughan is a wee prick!

Aye, I suppose you shouldn’t wish a career-threatener on anyone, but he really is a cheating little rat, who is quick to rub it in when his cheating bears fruit for him. I, for one won’t be losing any sleep over his misfortune.

Agreed. Get it right up him.
