With 4 forwards leaving I'll expect us to bring in another 2 yet, maybe one more versatile option with the pace Dougie's after and an Oakley replacement, someone like big Innes Cameron on loan wouldn't be a terrible shout. Cameron just signed a new contract this week - surely, at 23, it's with a view to contributing at Killie rather than going out again.
RossMcC1874
Happy with Garrity signing up, there is definitely a player in there if he can put together a run of good form and improve his work rate. Hopefully O'Connor signs up and then we start to have the basis of a team, I know previously somebody had mentioned we might have be interested in Bird who players for Arbroath not sure if that was just talk or if there was anything too it and also Tom Walsh however he has barely kicked a ball for well over a year and I know Ross Millen had been mentioned but I presume that's more to do with the links with his dad. The first signing is certainly an unknown quantity so who knows what come next.

I posted a while back that I saw millen leaving Cappielow with his dad at the sponsors night but he couod just be keeping himself fit. Team could look like: Mullen New Baird O'connor Millen Blues Wilson Reynolds Davies Garrity New Subs - broadfoot, Gillespie, oboy, King, Bearne. Ideally we'll bring in a right back, centre back, attacking midfielder and a striker. That does leave us light in midfield and depending on oboy and /or king to step up if Wilson and Gillespie are injured. That's a squad of 20. Is that realistic? We also have the loan market as others have said. There's a storm on the horizon And for that I can't see the sun For I'll keep a waiting on the pavement For the ice cream van to come

dunning1874
Not that there seemed to be any real risk of getting him back again, but French has confirmed he'll be looking for a "new challenge" next season. 2 Brian Wake my Lord, Brian Wake Brian Wake my Lord, Brian Wake Brian Wake my Lord, Brian Wake Oh Lord, Brian Wake
Jamie_M
David Scott GK coach away and not to another club. Surprised by that, seemed to be doing a really good job and was well though of Thought we were maybe going to go without another senior keeper and just have young sam on the bench but I wonder if this is budget management and we will bring in a player/coach... https://x.com/DavidGk1Scott/status/1795868785074753921

port-ton
Will be interesting how the club tries to spin that one. All we hear from the club is how they want to be more in the community and this ‘heartbeat of inverclyde’ tag line yet they’ve decided not to keep a successful young, local coach with his own goalkeeping academy that runs camps for inverclyde kids during the school holidays. His first team record in three years with two inexperienced keepers and another with absolutely shot confidence has been excellent as well. Hopefully the club decide to get in an experienced number 2 to coach and help strengthen the playing budget a little. Good people will do good things, bad people will do bad things, but only with religion do good people do bad things!
Jamie_M
Maybe Gaston was a bit hasty in signing that Stirling contract after all.
RossMcC1874
You imagine we would be looking for a player/coach now to help out Mullen and also to fill in when needed possibly a budget cut decision, but seems a strange decision releasing a young promising coach who has done well at the club. TONofmemories
Davie done a fantastic job btw, that absolutely must not be understated. I sincerely hope we're not cost cutting there. Mullen improved drastically. Edited May 29 by TONofmemories TIME FOR CHANGE!
Gmfcrg
Is it any coincidence that the Livingston goalkeeper coach Gary maley also left the same roll at Livingston today having previously been there backup goalie the previous 5 years before retiring in 2022? 41 years of age right enough but could maybe be coach/number 2 and allow murdoch to go out on loan? Mullen improved drastically. All the keepers improved drastically to be fair. Hamilton won player of the year and got a move back to the premiership when his career looked to be on a downward spiral after confidence and injury issues. Schwake had the most clean sheets in the league after only one season of league 2 football under his belt. Mullen had basically 12 games with Clyde under his belt before joining us and won young player of the year and is one of the most promising keepers we’ve had in a long time in my opinion. If Davie had any hand in helping scout and pinpoint these keepers then it could be an even bigger loss than it seems unless the next appointment is as successful too. You can argue about improvements here and there and coaching helping consistency, etc., but I think it's a bit much to say it was drastic.

Banter if we actually register a player older than Broadfoot. We can speculate that ours leaving was cost cutting but Maley leaving definitely was with Martindale calling him 'a victim of relegation'. Ferguson
Barring some backstory we're not aware of this is a terrible look. As said above he's a local guy who does plenty of work in the community and every keeper he's worked with, all either inexperienced or at a low point in their career, have been a success. Find it very hard to believe the club have found a better candidate, must be a David Marshall type player/coach.
