Substantiate.

Caley fans were happy when he re-signed for them that summer and were perfectly pragmatic when we signed him.

Far from laughing, they said that it just didn't work out in his 2nd spell there mainly because he was a Robertson signing, not a Dodds signing, and he was one of several players that ended up having a falling out with the jug eared lunatic.

How do you know his offer from Ayr was double ours?

Might be getting mixed up, but that's a few times you've been a doubting thomas 🤣

ETA: confirmed absolute doubting thomas over anything said. Need to learn to accept the facts. We've had the lowest budget for some seasons, including lower than Arbroath - a part time team - which you disputed.

It was report by, i believe,  Scott Burns, that his offer was 50% more than we offered. That's presumably all LargsTON is going on, like the rest of us.

Need to accept where we are, sir.

How do you know this as a fact? Do all clubs announce their player budgets? If so, where can we find this? If not, your 'facts' are nothing more than hearsay and assumption.

I'm comfortable in accepting our player budget is very likely lower than most in the league, but I've yet to see any actual evidence that it's the lowest.

Not really sure what doubting the reality achieves, tbh. It's widely reported.

We must’ve been speaking to different Inverness fans. I’m sure there’s truth in what each of us is saying here, but there’s no denying we took a lot of stick from them when we signed him.

It’ll no doubt be the same when we pick up his replacement, whether that’s Bird or someone else. Hopefully Imrie can bring the best out of him just the same.

'It's widely reported' means fuck all without actual facts. Widely reported by whom, and where do they get the evidence to support it?

Ok, Thomas. I've no real desire to continue pointing out the obvious - as is commonly known and reported, both outwith the club and within. If you refuse to believe that, for whatever gain, batter on.

I'm looking for facts not hearsay and conjecture. Who knows the individual budgets of every club in the league, and reported that ours is the lowest?  If you can't provide that basic fucking information, then your 'commonly known and reported' assessment can be filed straight on the bin.

Well, i'm not privy to that level of detail either, but why would several folk within our club, and within the media, report this, including our own manager. If hes lying, then the club should correct. I've never seen that.  It's hardly hearsay if it's coming from multiple people.

Stop clutching at straws. I dont really see your point of pure denial about it. Its hardly a bad thing, it's just the reality, D Thomas.

There are leagues out there that do announce club budgets. Spain is one because there's a minimum wage for players in the professional leagues. This is designed to prevent a club absolutely skooshing the semi-pro divisions then Brechining up the place on zero budget just to collect one season's worth of prize money before dropping back down.

France doesn't formally publish them but you can piece them together based on their mandatory income statements and FFP adherence. The 23-24 budgets make for grim reading.

I'm not the one claiming unsubstantiated statements are 'fact' mate, so you're the one who's actually clutching at straws.

Hearsay does not become a fact without actual real evidence to support it. I know Dougie said that we had the lowest budget in the league last season, but that in itself does not make it a fact. How could he possibly have known the budget of all the other clubs to be able to be able to make that statement? I can totally understand why he did say that, to perhaps pressurise the board to giving him more budget, and/or to reduce his culpability should things have gone tits up. But that doesn't mean it's true.

Jesus who pissed in your binfire.

It's clear that the better players who imrie wanted to keep are moving on for more money.

The three players we have re-signed (that would struggle to get another deal at this level) show just how poor our budget is going to be this season. We won't be handing out big money deals that's the reality of fan ownership. Whether it's fact or not our budget will be at the lower end of the scale for the championship.

Do yourself a wee favour and research the difference between an an opinion and a fact. If science was based on opinion we'd all be fucked.

Yeah Einstein, but none of that proves we have the lowest budget in the league, which is what we're discussing. Try to keep up, eh.

I'll stick to "award winning, fact based, analysis" thank you very much.
