Just out of the blue, she said to me, why can't you get a drink at Cappielow?, because it seems like they make a fortune from selling drink here. Is she right to think that? It would be a massive financial advantage for the club. With the exception of hospitality areas, alcohol has been banned from Scottish football grounds since 1980. https://www.stir.ac.uk/media/stirling/services/research/documents/policy-briefings/fasst-briefing-paper.pdf
TONofmemories
Ironically, both Celtic and Rangers can now sell alcohol in licesnsed bars within their ground for a period of time before the game. It needs a complete rethink - it would be a massive boost to clubs like ourselves. My plan for the vacant land would be a similar set up to that of Cove with an eventual link between that land and the shed which could be accessed at HT. Carlisle have a tidy wee bar inside their ground that is accessible during the HT interval. 2 TIME FOR CHANGE!
Pedrodelawasp
No access to the covered part of the Cowshed for the next three games: https://gmfc.net/stadium-plan-update-10-02-25/?fbclid=IwZXh0bgNhZW0CMTEAAR37tNIRdzcHfs4EjfWS0x_nhdQ4Bzy25NsMYfDB5vJAJBDclc5Jf716aUo_aem_sC7ZRhL5UCmM_Ubc0Il6Dw
Alibi
From the photos I've seen, the WDE end of the Cowshed seems to be undamaged - could that area not be used? I realise the catering facilities and toilets are probably in line with the damaged section but they are within a separate part of the structure to the rear of the cowshed. dunning1874
I get that this is a difficult situation and there's no good solution to losing use of the Cowshed, but really think home fans in the Wee Dublin End would be a far better approach. The Airdrie and Hamilton supports will not need more than the usual away capacity of the stand and the WDE is big enough to accommodate everyone displaced from the Cowshed while Sinclair St isn't. That would obviously present some challenges around which turnstiles are in use with some of them not being able to be segregated, but we had years of away fans using the main stand turnstiles to access the away end alongside home fans without issue. The Falkirk game will present a bigger challenge (and where will the camera gantry go if it can't be in the usual spot in the Cowshed?) as even with the game on TV they'll more than likely bring enough to necessitate opening the WDE themselves. While we have seen the WDE segregated before the last time I remember it happening was the Peterhead game in 2003, so a long time ago when there was probably less of a tendency for fans to lob things at each other so maybe that wouldn't be a credible option for stewarding now, but even if you think that can't be made to work for Falkirk it's no reason not to for Airdrie & Hamilton. Jamie_M
I assume they are wanting 1 system throughout rather than communicating 1 systen and having to change it for the Falkirk game. Also gives it a few easier tests before the busier game. Still think there's a chance the gantry will go in the shed. Would be good if this situation forced them to find a plan B though. Would have expected something to have been done by now, no? I believe we are awaiting the final report and insurer sign off before deciding on a plan of action. At the AGM it was acknowledged it would be relatively quick and straightforward to replace the missing sheets. The issue is until the integrity of the supporting structure is fully assessed this is not an option. If I picked it up correctly the Board was leaning towards delaying the works until the close season as the alternative would mean the Cowshed could be out of action for a lengthy period. In summary, they are seeking to do it once and do it right.

Ton in Shawlands
Maybe not full scaffolding but if following standard cladding safety protocols there should be some form of roof edge protection & safety netting to go up under the area they're working in.
