Thread About Ex Player

To be fair, it was last month after he went to the press about not being offered a contract by Albion Rovers. But I'd say the reaction and reaction on this thread was typical of many stories that get pretty widespread media coverage of one of our former players.

Had it involved Jon Scullion or Dean Keenan, I'd have expected a similar response.

Well aye, my overarching point was he gets the same amount of attention and conversation than anyone else who played for Morton in the last 10-15 years. The only thing that changes that is the massive chip on his shoulder.

You address me by my proper title, you little bollocks!

He does it to wind the fans up if they did not take the bate he would fizzle out.

Nice try, but the only person who has been reduced to a frothing mess by the experiences of the past decade has been McLaughlin, S. He's about as credible a 'wind-up merchant' as Zhivago.

The site is supposed to be a place for the extended 'family' of Morton supporters - having an affinity with people that you don't know, because you share a love of your local football club. It's not supposed to be about point scoring and showing how 'clever' or 'funny' you are, or just being downright rude and offensive to people you don't know, because you can get away with it. Unfortunately, it seems the classic case of people who have little standing/presence in real life, use this forum as a way of making themselves feel as if they are something. It's sad, and I've said that before..

So, having been on Morton forums for about 15 years I guess, I've had enough... well done t*ssers, another Morton supporter driven away. You can all feel happy at how 'clever' you are

I can't be alone in thinking Murdoch is overrated?

He's a decent player with some real qualities, but I'm not convinced that the sum of those qualities added up to a player whose influence on game's was really that effective. I'm not sure he read the game well enough or moved cleverly enough to avoid being too reactive to what was happening around him.

There's real potential there though, and he has much of the raw ability to move towards stepping up a level. Perhaps noone higher than Ayr willing to stake that on him.

I doubt many will agree but time will tell like it has with Rat Bachirou.

I was a big fan of Murdoch and was disappointed to see him leave. However if McKinnon had to choose between one of Millar/ McAllister over Murdoch then I understand why he was let go. Time will tell if it was the right decision to let him go or not.

It won't surprise me at all if Murdoch goes on to have a decent career which includes playing in the top flight, because the potential is there. It also doesn't surprise me that he has gone to Ayr, because I don't think his level of performance is at the level most Morton fans say it is.

Likewise I would've been happy for him to stay, but I'm not disappointed that we've tried to improve on what he offered.
