That's exactly the attitude that makes us a loser club.

The start of next season is a long way away. Who knows what will happen between now and then.

Unless JJ somehow turns into Arrigo Sacchi or someone on the board wins the Euromillions, nothing.

Look at Gordon giving it big licks

I'd have settled for a point before kick off today, and that point could well prove vital. Is gift wrapping another three points to Alloa a bit embarrassing? Yes. Am I petty and hateful enough that I'd accept it to send Grangemouth closer to League One? Also yes.

You address me by my proper title, you little bollocks!

While the self defence and accepting mediocrity attitude is not one I normally adopt, it's the only thing we can do until the losers are driven out of our club.

The only potential things that could happen between now and then that could deviate us from the situation that we have explicitly been told we are getting, is relegation, or administration.

The problem with sacrificing 3 points vs Alloa is that it sends us closer to League 1. Imagine we lost then Falkirk beat us at their hovel - nobody would be laughing then.

That's a gamble I'd be willing to take. All that can safe this holocaust of a season is sending those bastards down.

I think people underestimate how calamitous relegation would be.

This is true, and I’d be seething if it happened...but I’m not even that arsed at this point, assuming it’s because I can already see how next season will pan out.

We go down and we will become Airdrie.

I am in no doubt next year will be a relegation battle and I am concerned about the long term future of the club as it would appear the ‘ambition’ is to stay up and nothing else

Fresh ideas required top down and as much as Crawford is looking to sell, we need to market the club better.

Hawke is a waste of a wage and we need to look at the transformation of the club.

Yeah, definitely. We're at a moment of reckoning for the club's future that's going to be extremely difficult to navigate in the best of circumstances and which could still end badly even if we do manage to balance the books etc, so it's absolutely imperative we finish as highly as possible.

We can bemoan our lot as much as we like but the position we're in now is what it is. Relegation would be catastrophic going into a massive transition period, it could/will be make or break for the club's future.

On that note though, Rae should have sacked Johansson in January if he means to succeed in the cost-cutting. The difference in prize money this season is going to be huge: the Bachirou and McKinnon compensation should have been used to get shot of Johansson and bring someone else in and the higher league finish would have justified it.

Anybody putting Falkirk's demise over our fate is woefully misguided.

My main concern is that nobody will want to buy a full-time club in League One. At least with the Championship there's the prospect of decent prize money. In League One you're looking at (at least) one season of pissing about with low gates and prizes not dissimilar to those of a 'meat raffle'.

You could argue that a League 1 club would command a lower price tag, increasing the number of possible buyers.

I think the Raes have already made it clear it's a fire sale. I don't think they're in a position to hard bargain.

Ooft. Wanting Alloa and Arbroath in the league to save us from relegation next season just about sums you up.

What a loser you are.

Nobody cares about your opinion champ. Swing and a miss.

The site is supposed to be a place for the extended 'family' of Morton supporters - having an affinity with people that you don't know, because you share a love of your local football club. It's not supposed to be about point scoring and showing how 'clever' or 'funny' you are, or just being downright rude and offensive to people you don't know, because you can get away with it. Unfortunately, it seems the classic case of people who have little standing/presence in real life, use this forum as a way of making themselves feel as if they are something. It's sad, and I've said that before..

So, having been on Morton forums for about 15 years I guess, I've had enough... well done t*ssers, another Morton supporter driven away. You can all feel happy at how 'clever' you are

This is true, but by the same token I think people are deluding thenselves in thinking it’s actually avoidable. If we stay up this season we are absolutely 100% going down with sub 30 points next season.

That’s what having Jonatan Johansson means for the club. If getting relegated this season instead means he gets sacked this summer then meh, there’s probably more chance of bouncing straight back up after getting relegated through a collapse this season that gets him sacked than there is after giving him next season to wreak more havoc and finish on 25 points, leaving his replacement with a far greater mess.

It’s obviously a disaster which has us on the Airdrie trajectory at best anyway, but I really think next season could be putting us on the Clyde trajectory if we’re in this division with Johansson in charge.

We all know a budget cut is coming, but no-one knows by how much( doubt even the board know until we see where finish) Who's to say it is only cut down to a Queens/Ayr/livvy type level rather than an Alloa and even then all 4 of those have and do compete with their respective budgets so don't agree we are automatically assumed to be Brechin like next season!

What if the Easdales finally come in and then it's a fresh start? Surely being a championship club makes us much more attractive? IMO they still wouldn't be coming to games etc if something isn't going to happen. To me, they are simply waiting until Crawford is on his knees and they bag themselves a good deal.

JJ might even get the bag even if we stay up by the skin of our teeth. Crawford and co must realise how many fans want JJ out and the potential disaster of only a few season ticket sales if he is still in charge!

Too many uncertainties at the moment, but for me, relegation is the worst possible scenario and there would be a real threat that we would turn into a Raith/Airdrie etc...

Win on Tues, get us all but safe and hope for major changes this Summer!

I fully expect a fixed, really low budget based on the target prize money for 8th/9th for next season. Having Arbroath, Alloa and Raith along with QoS (who appear to be on the same downward trajectory as ourselves) in the league gives us the best chance of staying up.

Hawke & co. aren't capable of setting us up like Livi. We wont bounce back from League One on a small budget because you actually have to be run properly to do that. The only hope is that we cling on long enough for someone to give the Easdales their money back for the Rangers shares.

The team aren't good enough to pick and choose their fixtures but I'd bite your hand off for us to stay in this league with Alloa next season.

Spot on. First things first, we need to ensure that we are in this division next season and a major positive step would be getting three points against Alloa on Tuesday this should ensure we avoid bottom place. to then avoid relegation altogether we would then go to the snakes lair and defeat them - remember they will be under enormous pressure - I think that Falkirk could possibly end up bottom and Alloa in the play offs if this happens.

If we lose to Alloa it would be calamitous and leave us walking a knife edge in the snakes lair and also with the 2 "Dun" games following it. I for one am very uncertain that we would survive this.

We need to stay up and start winning games.
