Morton v Raith moved to Sunday 12th 3pm

Good with this decision, with the forecast suggesting it's got no chance on Saturday and Sunday being a far better option than a midweek (the Hamilton game is now 18th February). Inevitably it will inconvenience some people but they've announced it early enough in the week for it to be fair enough, and we could really be doing without going three weeks without a game, completely trampling our momentum.

Finally a sensible decision coming from the club. There’s no guarantee it will go ahead on Sunday, but there seems to be a better chance than leaving it on the Saturday.

Interesting.

When was the last time we played a Sunday league game, other than Rangers or Christmas/NY games?

Last I can recall off the top of my head was a 4-0 win over Alloa in September 2006, because Scotland played the Faroe Islands at Celtic Park on the Saturday, winning 6-0.

The Alloa game is best remembered for Derek Lilley’s goal that finished off a brilliant move.

There may be more recent ones owing to internationals, but none which spring immediately to mind.

I had forgotten that Alloa game was a Sunday.

The one I remember was in November 2003, where we played East Fife away the day after Scotland beat Netherlands 1-0 at Hampden.

My mate didn’t make it home after the Scotland game and I had to pick him up, massively hungover, in Paisley on the Sunday. He left the game in Methil after 20 minutes and slept in the back of my car.

McGhee needs some support, there's no-one backing him up.
Hayes playing it forward, Bell being forced to do it all alone, now forward from Marr, here's Ritchie, still Andy Ritchie, look at the control...

That is a marvellous goal from Andy Ritchie. Twenty minutes on the clock and Morton's supporters come alive. A goal which epitomises the control, the arrogance, the cheek of Andy Ritchie.

Pretty sure that the Forfar 0-4 game in March 2007 was a Sunday too. The game where Greacen took a penalty while on a hat trick and missed, provoking a meltdown from TTG Jim.

The site is supposed to be a place for the extended 'family' of Morton supporters - having an affinity with people that you don't know, because you share a love of your local football club. It's not supposed to be about point scoring and showing how 'clever' or 'funny' you are, or just being downright rude and offensive to people you don't know, because you can get away with it. Unfortunately, it seems the classic case of people who have little standing/presence in real life, use this forum as a way of making themselves feel as if they are something. It's sad, and I've said that before..

So, having been on Morton forums for about 15 years I guess, I've had enough... well done t*ssers, another Morton supporter driven away. You can all feel happy at how 'clever' you are

Noticed that Dunfermline v Ayr has also been moved from Saturday to next Tuesday.

As already had Livi v Airdrie.

Livi were also in favour of the Sunday option but some of their external partners weren't available so they went for Tuesday.

If, as it appears, the SPFL gave the option of Sunday or Tuesday, don't blame the club for giving the Sunday a go.

It was, yes. Scotland v Georgia was at Hampden the previous day, a 2-1 win with Craig Beattie scoring in the last minute.

Remember being annoyed myself as I had the fear it would come down to goal difference. Then we beat Forfar 9-1 a fortnight later.

My overriding memory of the 9-1 game is how raging Greacen was when we conceded (he was trotting around in midfield at the time, as I recall.)

The bold Mr R.
He was raging with you for buying two cheeseburgers at Castlecary and eating them in the car whilst he was clearly suffering.

He asked me for the car keys 20 minutes into the game and left. Missed a honking 0-0 draw.

Day after Holland and McFadden....I was fine on the journey to Methil and had a few pints in the bar pre match then died. We were off to Amsterdam on the Tuesday for the second leg and I'm still positive I had alcohol poisoning.

Wonder if there's any chance this could be played on Tuesday night.

There's a storm on the horizon

And for that I can't see the sun

For I'll keep a waiting on the pavement

For the ice cream van to come
