Guest capitanus Posted September 27, 2024 Posted September 27, 2024 A good reliable Serbian hitman is what we need. I've a good feeling about this one.
GM2020 Posted October 1, 2024 Posted October 1, 2024 https://x.com/HYFPRW/status/1800200933756076272 Came across this - won goal of the season last season.
Scott Posted October 11, 2024 Posted October 11, 2024 Nathan Shaw must be out longer than expected. We have a pile of forward players now.
RossMcC1874 Posted October 11, 2024 Posted October 11, 2024 Don't really remember much of him at Inverness other than he was rapid but good experience at the level. Another out and out striker which is good and short term deal fairly low risk.
irnbru Posted October 11, 2024 Posted October 11, 2024 Doubt we'll see much of Davies or Reynolds now. Him, McGinn, Garrity and Stuparevic all ahead of them.
Chicken_Soup Posted October 11, 2024 Posted October 11, 2024 Don’t remember much of Samuels at Inverness other than him being really quick. That is something we’ve lacked since Quitongo left so this adds more variety to our attack at least. Hopefully get a better look at him tonight.

TRVMP Posted October 11, 2024 Posted October 11, 2024 Hard to see Davies kicking a ball between now and January. Reynolds, after a disastrous start, has just about found his feet, but Davies is nowhere to be found. Either way, good to see someone with some Championship experience.
Jamie_M Posted October 11, 2024 Posted October 11, 2024 Dougie definitely still so seething about (allegedly) wanting the Caley job and (allegedly) not getting it that he's piecing together as much as he can of that Caley squad that got relegated to show what tune he'd have got out of it.
dunning1874 Posted October 12, 2024 Posted October 12, 2024 Undeniable that we look much healthier for centre forwards with this signing. Samuels is undoubtedly a more credible alternative to Stuparevic than any other options on paper. The imbalance in the squad now is pretty wild though, we've gone full Hopkin. Options in the front four: Stuparevic, Samuels, Reynolds, Davies, McGinn, Garrity, Moffat, Crawford, Shaw, Lyall (and arguably King depending where you see his best position being) Options at full back: Ballantyne, Delaney, Wilson (which would mean removing our best midfielder from the midfield), Blues (not a full back), King (not a full back though he was good last night). Sadly an injury to Wilson is probably going to happen at some point looking at his career to date. If you then lose one of Ballantyne or Delaney while he's out you're suddenly looking a bit threadbare. We managed fine with Wilson and Delaney missing from the starting XI last night, but it's a concern. Brian Wake my Lord, Brian Wake Brian Wake my Lord, Brian Wake Brian Wake my Lord, Brian Wake Oh Lord, Brian Wake

With Lyall nailing down the deeper role, and O’Boy omitted from that list, it’s basically 10 players competing for the 4 attacking positions. Strong competition. At left back, aside from Delaney, King and Ballantyne, we also have Boyes who can play there with 3 other centre backs in the squad. Right back is the only position I’d argue we don’t have sufficient cover, unless Corr can play there. We’ve seen O’Connor and McEntee played there out of necessity in recent years so if anything happens to Ballantyne, he might have to.
Mr.Blue Posted October 12, 2024 Posted October 12, 2024 I'd absolutely love us to get Grimmys back as the final piece of the jigsaw. He'd slot into the midfield alongside Shug and would be a great addition. He'd also give us some cover at fullback. 2 There's a storm on the horizon And for that I can't see the sun For I'll keep a waiting on the pavement For the ice cream van to come
the minerals required to be a Greenock Morton FC player.
The entire second half of the interview does seem like a response to Strapp's departure IMO but it is completely unrealistic. There's no way that we can magically determine match fitness for the subsequent year and award contracts on that basis alone. Bump. Taking stock at the end of our first quarter of games today, we have the following players completely missing from the squad with various issues. This is excluding one-off disappearances too: GK: Mullen 2 CBs: Boyes; Corr ???: Shaw (Nathan, apparently) We are also managing Wilson's minutes each week like we're shipping a priceless Ming vase, while Gillespie's continued lack of game time suggests a possible issue there too. [sarcasm] It's just as well our 'minerals' based recruitment strategy was in place then or else we'd be fielding a makeshift and badly weakened team right now. [/sarcasm] 3 The site is supposed to be a place for the extended 'family' of Morton supporters - having an affinity with people that you don't know, because you share a love of your local football club. It's not supposed to be about point scoring and showing how 'clever' or 'funny' you are, or just being downright rude and offensive to people you don't know, because you can get away with it. Unfortunately, it seems the classic case of people who have little standing/presence in real life, use this forum as a way of making themselves feel as if they are something. It's sad, and I've said that before.. So, having been on Morton forums for about 15 years I guess, I've had enough... well done t*ssers, another Morton supporter driven away. You can all feel happy at how 'clever' you are
