Tubes
Any word on what’s happening with Conor Pepper? He made a comeback for the development squad, then was in coaching Im sure, and not heard a thing since.
BishopBrennan
Any word on what’s happening with Conor Pepper? He made a comeback for the development squad, then was in coaching Im sure, and not heard a thing since. I'd like to see what he can do in the pre-season games and then take it from there. He was a good player who would add a lot of versatility and mobility to our defence and midfield. Is he still coaching with the club? You address me by my proper title, you little bollocks! Scott
I think we’d have signed him if Duffy was still here but can’t see Ray taking a look at him.
Madton
I think we’d have signed him if Duffy was still here but can’t see Ray taking a look at him. Yeah agreed. Hopefully he gets an opportunity somewhere but his last competitive game was 2 1/2 years ago so he might need to prove himself somewhere else before getting a Championship level club. JLTON
Am sure I read somewhere that he had left the club and was moving back to Ireland.
Tubes
Apparently he’s training to become a personal trainer, so maybe he’s looking at part time football alongside that? Always really liked him and wish him all the best.

Jamie_M
Can someone outline the compensation situation please? Specifically in relation to Mark. Cheers. Spfl rules state that a club must declare their interest in retaining a player for which a development fee would be due by offering a contract of equal or greater value to the existing contract no later than 14 days prior to the expiry of the existing contract. Said offer must be given in writing to the player and also lodged with the league secretary to record that the club has met it's obligations with regards to being eligible for the development fee. The club has met it's obligation. There is no stipulation that the offer must remain on the table indefinitely (the 14 days prior is designed to give the player those 2 weeks to decide before his contract expires). Often clubs will extend the deadline for a player they want to keep but do not have to keep waiting. We gave him long enough, took the lack of an answer as a no or weren't willing to wait any more, and moved on by saying time is up, offer withdrawn. We will still be due compensation. Toby
Taking money off those c*nts for a guy whose promise has delivered the same as Scott Taggart’s would be just lovely.

What's the score if no club's willing to pay a compensation fee as they don't think he's worth it and he no longer has an offer on the table from us? Do we need to agree to waive the fee? Jamie_M
What's the score if no club's willing to pay a compensation fee as they don't think he's worth it and he no longer has an offer on the table from us? Do we need to agree to waive the fee? Pretty much. The player needs to get it in writing that explicitly states that no compensation will be sought otherwise, training clubs can stake a claim anyway. Wooly lines like 'free to find another club' or 'contract no longer on the table' do not count as they do not explicitly state that no compensation is due. The club could theoretically freeze them out of signing another professional contract (if nobody is Willing to pay what's due) until the player reaches 24. He could sign for someone as an amateur. Madton
So good chance Jai will be back soon then as i simply can't see anyone paying for him and we would be stupid to simply release him as he could be a big player for us if we keep him fit... Stevie Aitken's Love Child
Scott Tiffoney should be very aware of this situation, as I'm sure his brother was in this position with Ayr a couple of years back, and had to play amateur with Alloa as Ayr wouldn't budge on compensation. It's only a matter of time until this rule gets revised, IMO, because there are a lot of players going on the scrapheap. It's not quite the Bosman ruling but it's not far off it. TONofmemories
Send the packing like Mark Russell if they're not playing ball by the end of this week. No time to fuck about; we've a league to win. TIME FOR CHANGE!
