Ayr 1 - 0 Morton

Game absolutely reeked of 0-0 until the stonewall penalty was correctly awarded. It should have continued reeking of 0-0 for the stonewall double hit.

As much as we've been done by that decision, there continue to be serious problems on that evidence. When we go 1-0 down we are utterly devoid of ideas. We came from behind to get a point at Livingston through a penalty but even this early in the season, we look so inept against a team sitting in that it's hard to see how we take points from going behind.

Nothing up front except a half chance for Reynolds when their keeper and defender collided. No other efforts on target.

Penalty was a stonewaller. Goal should not have stood as he hit the ball twice.

Taking Wilson off was essentially throwing in the towel.

McGhee needs some support, there's no-one backing him up.
Hayes playing it forward, Bell being forced to do it all alone, now forward from Marr, here's Ritchie, still Andy Ritchie, look at the control...

That is a marvellous goal from Andy Ritchie. Twenty minutes on the clock and Morton's supporters come alive. A goal which epitomises the control, the arrogance, the cheek of Andy Ritchie.

Decent first half with better if the chances. Lamar has to do better with the first chance when him and McGinn are 2v1. Then again with the volley should do better but looked like a possible pen to me defenders arms were definitely up.

We didn't reappear 2nd half thought we were poor, they nullified big Shug in the middle of the park and we hoofballed for the best part of 40 mins straight to their center half's. Cracking save by Mullen to keep us in it at 0-0, then a stupid foul by Baird when the boy is going nowhere.

As for the pen itself having seen it back he has 100% hit the ball off his left standing foot and bounced by Mullen. Mullen has gone the right way as well to where the ball is going so I think he would have got it not to mention it's a fucking foul. Game was dead after that.

Good reception for Oakley well done all involved hope it's worse at cappielow.

To reinforce what others have said. Good first half performance away from home. Second half we didn't kick on and Ayr were the better side despite not creasing much at all. Penalty was a stone Waller and Baird wants his arse kicked for diving in. We are totally toothless upfront. Didn't see anything from the new boy that indicates he'll add to the team but I know that's harsh as it's his first game.  Actually thought Reynolds was fine in the first half today but he still doesn't work hard enough for me. Ballantyne, Crawford and Shug were our best players. I'd still like to see another midfielder come in and allow Lyall to be played further forward.

Ayr weren't up to much at all which makes the loss all the more disappointing.

Absolutely no question of it being a penalty. No idea what Baird was thinking. Absolute rush of blood, totally needless!!! However if it was a double hit (couldn't see it from where I was to be fair) how on earth has the ref not spotted it? Really really poor and totally inexcusable if it's the case!

Between Baird and Broadfoot we must give up more penalties than most teams in the Championship. What makes it harder to stomach is they are largely avoidable. As for our inability to play for the full 90 minutes any chance we only get to pay half the admission price?

Dougie stopping short of calling Lamar out today for poor decision making and being wasteful in the final third. Also noticed he was very frustrated with him at the side of the park.

Ali Crawford was very poor today I thought. Reverting back to work shy charlatan loanee Ali from 2 seasons ago.  His reluctance to just put his foot in is incredibly frustrating. McGinn also fairly anonymous, especially 2nd half.

Ayr looked pretty mediocre at best so pretty gutted we’ve been done by that disaster of a penalty. Baird diving in like that was absolute madness, extremely poor from someone that knows better.

Mullens save in the 2nd half was outstanding.

Ali Crawford was one of our better players on and off the ball. Agree that McGinn was anonymous.

1 goal scored in 4 away league games.

Raith, Hamilton, Dunfermline and Queens Park are the fixtures coming up. We really need our new striker to bed in quickly if we're to avoid a repeat of last season's early slump.

Christ I had actually forgot Mcginn played yesterday until I seen a few of the mentions on here. I’ve also just found out he lasted the whole fecking game.

Thought first half we looked okay again without creating much. Second half pretty and tbh even the most honest Ayr fans will admit it had  0-0 written all over it. That was until of course Jack Baird decided to make a very rash challenge when the boy was going no where. It actually looks worse on the highlights, sickener. Goal should not have stood, you can even tell by Hendersons reaction that he’s made a mistake. There was an overwhelming feeling amongst the support that the game was over as soon as that went on.

Real worry still about our lack of goals. It's lot to ask Filip to hit the ground running but let's hope he can.

Reynolds is still a dud no idea why he was signed and nowhere good enough.

We lose all control of a game once Wilson goes off and revert to type of launching it forward.

Just watched Dougie's post match interview and he claims it was a good game. Can't agree here - I thought the game was dreadful and had 0-0 written all over it (until Baird's lunge).

I did notice that he looked over at the away end when the half time whistle was greeted with booing - but presumably the applause that went with it made him realise it was aimed at the referee.

Ayr's pathetic catering option for away fans was tinpot stuff.

Imrie has to be at the windup saying it was a good game and we played well. I thought we were hoaching. Lyall, McGinn, Reynolds, and Davies when he came on were really poor.
