As tinpot as it is, it's about time we had our tinpot day in the sun winning this thing.

Are we the biggest overall underachievers in this competition?

Of the traditional full-time clubs we're definitely the one with the most appearances without winning it. Dunfermline and big-spending Partick have also never won, but they've spent a lot of time in the top flight. Big-spending minnows Ayr United have also never won it, but they've been to two finals and spent a lot of that period part-time anyway.

You could make a case for The Rangers being the biggest underachievers, having an incredible budget but winning just once in four attempts, but realistically it's Morton.

Cheers.

Shouldn't annoy me as much as it does but would really like that tinpot little monkey off our backs.

Especially now with £100k for the winner it should be taken as anything less than serious.

We'd have to be considered early favorites now that Big Phil's banging them in.

Ahhh, Reghan Tumilty eh

On the one hand he was a young man who made one daft comment and it feels churlish to hold it against him forever.

On the other hand: haha, get it up you 'Reaghs' ya wee fud.

Why is that not a red card. ?. No attempt to play the ball

Aye, shocking refereeing.

Some heart in mouth moments playing ourselves into trouble or the defence getting themselves in a mess, the build up to the Todorov chance was wild, but we've been comfortably the better team since scoring.

He's still cutting around as a fully grown adult, in the era of deed poll, with the first name 'Rhegan' which I will be holding against him forever.

Excellent performance going forward so far, with Stuperavic looking like a more clinical Serb hitman than Arkan.

Some very good defensive interventions but as a unit we look a bit too open and easy to play through. Hamilton have created fewer opportunities in the last 20 minutes but we look like needing another goal or two - a red card for their cynical hatchetmen would do nicely as well.

The site is supposed to be a place for the extended 'family' of Morton supporters - having an affinity with people that you don't know, because you share a love of your local football club. It's not supposed to be about point scoring and showing how 'clever' or 'funny' you are, or just being downright rude and offensive to people you don't know, because you can get away with it. Unfortunately, it seems the classic case of people who have little standing/presence in real life, use this forum as a way of making themselves feel as if they are something. It's sad, and I've said that before..

So, having been on Morton forums for about 15 years I guess, I've had enough... well done t*ssers, another Morton supporter driven away. You can all feel happy at how 'clever' you are

Scottish referees: you (Ben Williamson) have tried to break an ankle four times in the game already, I'm finally forced to give you a yellow card through a veil of tears.

Also Scottish referees: You (Ballantyne) didn't immediately take a throw in at my command - yellow card straight away.

Just fuck off.

Another needlessly high challenge = another stonewall booking for Hamilton welched on by this useless waste of skin.

We should’ve buried this mob by now

Aye the scoreline didn't cover the dominant nature of our performance. Credit to Woods for bailing us out with Hamilton's one chance, but that was literally it after the 46th minute. As a whole we controlled that second half really well.

Hamilton are gubbins but that puts down a nice marker against a team that BBC Alba thought would be carving open shitey wee hammer throwing Morton with their total football philosophy tonight. No reason why we can't sword Dunfermline again next weekend either.

That was quite good. Other than that peach of a save never in doubt.

Peter Weatherson is the greatest player since Ritchie, and should be assigned 'chairman for life'

Commanding performance. Outwith the first 10 minutes, we were in ultimate control.

Lyall is a classy footballer. Creates 5 yards space by not even touching the ball at times.

Impressed with that, especially considering the number of players missing/rested. We’re starting to piece together some more complete performances, rather than just performing well in spells. The potential for this group is very high.

Good performance didn't think they really troubled us. Filip to just pick up the ball and be like I'm taking the penalty great attitude.

Ballantyne, Lyall, both excellent thought Samuels look energetic when he came on.

Onto the next round

See if I was Dougie, I'd wonder when the media would notice that I can get a tune out of squads of pretty disparate ability and reputation, rather than them just acting like he sends them out with instructions to throw hammers.

Their inability to spot this is our gain, of course, because meme managers like 'Rhys McCabe' get all the plaudits because they played four passes in a row once against Arbroath.
