port-ton
https://www.gmfc.net/chris-ross-general-manager/ Glad we have someone in. Can't be any worse than our previous chief executives so willing to see what he brings to the table. Hopefully some modern ideas and a bit of organisation and stability to the club on a daily basis. Welcome to the club Chris. Good people will do good things, bad people will do bad things, but only with religion do good people do bad things! Welcome to the club Chris. Good luck to him, he's got a massive job on his hands turning this ship around in just 30 hours a week.

Aye, good luck to him, he seems to be a good acquisition for the club right enough. But they're still expecting miracles from the guy if they expect him to be able to turn this ship around on a 30 hour per week contract.
TaunTon
Tough gig given the constraints but I wish him every success in his new role.

irnbru
He cane across quite well in the Tele albeit a lot of buzzwords. Hope he does well but the concern is the 30 hours a week and if he does then he'll get a better wage elsewhere quite quickly.

Ever consider that? *insert signature here*

If it's a full time job, which IMO it certainly is, give him a full time contract and reward him accordingly. Giving him a part-time contract and 'expecting' him to work full-time is not only immoral, it means if he's successful he'll be off like a shot at a first full-time opportunity that comes along. Chucked my last job for treating me like that and just accuring endless Time-Off-In-Lieu. I know this is a much bigger and better job but it does get pretty tiring, pretty quickly. I tend to agree with what you've said however a £30k salary for a 30 hour week is not typical of 'part-time work'. In fact, there will be many 'managers' in the leisure, entertainment, hospitality and retail sectors who won't be getting that kind of wage for a 45 hour week. A lot of it will come down to the day-to-day expectations of what this guy will be doing. *insert signature here*
