Thread About Ex Player

He's clearly not super jazzed about playing for the club, given that he's spending the summer grubbing around pub leagues instead. So far more like the wasters we had in 2013-14 than our current crop.

He had his chance to remain and turned it down - given he's easily replaceable, that really should be that.

While I agree with that I don't blame him for trying to get a bigger club and making more money if the shoe was on the other foot you would do the same. Just as I don't blame Duffy if he thinks he won't get better and welcomes him back.

And by exercising that option - which of course he's perfectly entitled to do - his contract offer at this club should have been taken off the table. The club set pretty firm deadlines for the rest of the squad to commit to a new campaign in May, and were right to do so. An exception shouldn't be made in this case.

Well if he doesn't think he can get better in the transfer market than a frankly average squad player then it does not bode too well for the coming season IMO; a campaign that ought to be delivering progress on the consolidation achieved last time round. But if there aren't quality wide midfielders on the market then we shouldn't be playing with wide midfielders at all.

The site is supposed to be a place for the extended 'family' of Morton supporters - having an affinity with people that you don't know, because you share a love of your local football club. It's not supposed to be about point scoring and showing how 'clever' or 'funny' you are, or just being downright rude and offensive to people you don't know, because you can get away with it. Unfortunately, it seems the classic case of people who have little standing/presence in real life, use this forum as a way of making themselves feel as if they are something. It's sad, and I've said that before..

So, having been on Morton forums for about 15 years I guess, I've had enough... well done t*ssers, another Morton supporter driven away. You can all feel happy at how 'clever' you are

Would have taken him back, Duffy better get the finger out and sign some wingers, if not 3-5-2 should be our formation with Russel and Doyle at wingbacks.

We've gone most of his tenure with sometimes just one natural wide midfielder so I'd be amazed if we went down that route. You're as likely to see Forbes on the right as anything.

McMullan might be up to something as a number 10, but he's mediocre as a winger and that's the only place Duffy would use him. Not bothered at all to miss out.

No quite an ex-player, but an ex-POTY.

Bayer Leverkusen are/were considering parting with £1.5m actual cash for Efe Ambrose.

McGhee needs some support, there's no-one backing him up.
Hayes playing it forward, Bell being forced to do it all alone, now forward from Marr, here's Ritchie, still Andy Ritchie, look at the control...

That is a marvellous goal from Andy Ritchie. Twenty minutes on the clock and Morton's supporters come alive. A goal which epitomises the control, the arrogance, the cheek of Andy Ritchie.

Their manager was asked about it today and has rubbished the story thankfully. Here's hoping they can't get rid of him.

Most players have nothing to say but good things to say about Duffy. His first season he done what he was required. Last season he did probably better than what we expected so let's see what happens with who he signs.

I'm assuming you have something to back that claim up with...

What is said in the papers.

Aye- to be fair Dean, it's pretty much common knowledge that Duffy's popular amongst his players. Anyone I've ever spoken to that's had dealings with him or his players have always said how popular he is.

Nevertheless, I'll give you a greenie to cancel out the red dot that EdDeBawbag gave you.

Peaso officially signs for Clyde. Will score for fun in that league if he's fit.

He'll also likely score a hat trick against us in two weeks.
