irnbru
Even if it is true then it's not like we're a Rangers where there's a huge asset value and money to be made in brand rights, season tickets, etc so they'd need to make a success of the club to make money. Every one of them is very successful albeit they might not have used the most honeys means of achieving it.
bob_the_builder
"Given the grand tour"?!! How many times have they been at Cappielow already lol?! If there's any truth in this then it doesn't say much for Crawfords 3 year plan if he's willing to sell up to the first lot that show an interest! here today, gone to hell

If the goal was to make money, they wouldn't be doing it by trying to make a success out of a Scottish Championship football club. Whatever their goal would be, it doesn't sound good considering their history with football clubs.

We're not like Rangers where there's a clear profit so they either need to be successful or are using it as a hobby and they aren't the type to like failure. Anyway, seems like some journalist has made it up based on people going to watch a game of football.
dunning1874
We knew the Easdales taking an interest eventually was always likely, but the proposition of bringing the likes of Llambias along with them is the kind of thing to set alarm bells ringing. It might just be paper talk at the moment, but if there is anything in it the fanbase needs to be organised to get answers about their intentions. I'd say that's the case with anyone but with the money these guys have, would selling off a stadium in a run down area of Greenock actually make any difference to them and be worth the effort? I can't really think of any other ways they'd make a quick profit.
GiGi
Sure it isn't just a couple of Sandy's pals and maybe business partners coming up for a couple of days and going to watch the boy playing for the reserves whole they were here? Sounds like pure speculation based on a few guys attending a reserves game for a family member. There's nothing at all unusual or suspect about taking yer pals to a game to watch yer son and showing them about the place; if there was something nefarious going on the Easdale quote would likely have been less casual. Let's face it anyway, a tour of Cappielow is literally a single corridor, hardly as if they were shown around the extensive facilities. hoodless
As long as we don’t end up with Slazenger strips. This 1874 gear is bad enough.

Malt
Easdales are very successful business men. These guys are not going to be buying morton to sell off the assets, they could make more money just buying another Bus Firm. Hopefully we get £200k from Burton for Scotland's hottest property...Zander. Maybe get a link up with Newcastle to get some loan players with the Carr connection? I wouldn't imagine the easdales would need these characters as they could comfortably run the club on their own.

Anyway, seems like some journalist has made it up based on people going to watch a game of football. The truth is that they don't care about what other people define as success or failure, only what their own agenda is. So is being successful meaning that we help a team like Newcastle develop their young players, or we provide an avenue for avoiding tax, or what? Their definition of success might not match ours. It certainly didn't match Newcastle's or Rangers' definition of success.
so72
To be fair, if the quotes in the article were fake then the Easdale's very active legal team would be on it already. Their 'spokesperson' confirmed that they are in early stages of talks regarding a possible takeover. Crawford said that he would sell for the right price during the summer. I reckon the involvement of the others is just purely speculation based on them watching Zander but there is no doubt the Easdales are looking at taking over Morton.
