DreamOakTree
I think some of our best managers / coaches / assistant managers have been ex-Morton players who knew the club and our expectations - Eric Smith, Benny Rooney, Allan McGraw, Jim Duffy, Craig McPherson to name a few. Hopkin is also local and would know what’s required.
LargsTON
blah blah blah blah blah blah Your droning posts piss me off as much as VT's incessant wanking over Wake. I'm sure you made a valid point somewhere but I gave up pretty early I'm afraid. Peaso has spent virtually his whold career in the Scottish leagues and would be a far more viable option than fucking Wake. I wasn't being entirely serious about bringing him in but it's time the Wake nonsense was put to bed. It started out as attention seeking, it's just monotonous now. Hej
Would rather read Dunning's novels and the Wake stuff than LT's constant whinging and digging people up to be honest with you.
TheGoon
So anyone that’s had a long playing career in Scotland is more likely to be managerial material than a coach doing reasonably well overseas?

Good for you. I've just ran out of patience with everything to do with Morton and that extends to folk on this forum. I'm well aware I moan constantly these days but years of this shite has worn me down. You continue to read Dunnings ramblings and VTs spunk laden posts bigging up Wake and I'll continue to be a crabbit bastard. I'm happy with that. TRVMP
I've seen enough - Dykes is shite and needs to be booted. A man on the front post - not just marking the attacker at the front post, but on the post itself - would also have prevented that goal. JJ is a dud. Nope. Not necessarily but in the case of Wake and Peaso I'd have far more confidence in the latter. "CORNBEEF IS A BELLEND"

I’ll shorten it to bullet points then: Wake’s managerial pedigree > Peaso’s managerial pedigree Arguing Wake doesn’t have pedigree to manage Morton - valid Arguing Wake isn’t viable while saying Peaso is - evidently ridiculous & hypocritical Wanting Peaso or Rowan Alexander as manager because of reputations as players - the reason we’re landed with a dud like Johansson Brian Wake my Lord, Brian Wake Brian Wake my Lord, Brian Wake Brian Wake my Lord, Brian Wake Oh Lord, Brian Wake
cmdc
I've seen enough - Dykes is s***e and needs to be booted. A man on the front post - not just marking the attacker at the front post, but on the post itself - would also have prevented that goal. JJ is a dud. I was never keen on having a man on the front post - always felt it better for that person to be on the edge of the six yard box to block the cross (Alan Shearer did this remarkably well) and trust the defender to win a challenge or the keeper to make a save if he has to. We have two players failing to win a header against one player well before the front post, and empty space behind for the ball to go straight into the goal. Dykes lost his man, which is poor, but I have no idea why McHugh runs off the post into no man's land. It's a mess.

The reason I suggested Alexander - although initially tongue in cheek - was bugger all to do with his rep as a player but because he took Gretna through the leagues with a wage cap of £2000 per week (Stevie Tosh) if i recall correctly. He also took them to a cup final. He has to have had some kind of mamagerial ability to achieve that irrespective of Milesons millions. There's a touch of hypocrisy about my Peaso suggestion - again a name I just threw in there on a whim - but would I have more faith in a guy who's spent 2 decades playing here and knows the league inside out and will likely be looking for his 1st managerial gig soon than a guy helping out some Swedish junior mob and who spent about 10 mins here as a player? If it was a choice i know who I'd prefer. The Wake thing started out as a bad joke, it should never have been allowed to gather momentum but VT and all his stupid fluffers have endorsed it. vikingTON
Alexander deserves credit for being a good chequebook manager - just compare his record to that of Jim McInally, who at the same time squandered about £1 million of club finances on utter shite instead. But unless we're going to restart the three year plan with some extra investment from outside the club then that's not going to be the most useful skill set for us. The site is supposed to be a place for the extended 'family' of Morton supporters - having an affinity with people that you don't know, because you share a love of your local football club. It's not supposed to be about point scoring and showing how 'clever' or 'funny' you are, or just being downright rude and offensive to people you don't know, because you can get away with it. Unfortunately, it seems the classic case of people who have little standing/presence in real life, use this forum as a way of making themselves feel as if they are something. It's sad, and I've said that before.. So, having been on Morton forums for about 15 years I guess, I've had enough... well done t*ssers, another Morton supporter driven away. You can all feel happy at how 'clever' you are

At first viewing I thought Millar might have done more as well, but he was probably caught by surprise that Dykes and McHugh were doing literally the opposite of what they were supposed to.
