Jamie_M
Falkirk fans think they will get Keillor-Dunn back from Ross County, Alston from St Johnstone and Sibbald from Livi to join Tidser across the middle. Some of their fantasists even think they have a chance of signing Will Vaulks despite him being capped for Wales and Rotherham looking for a couple of million. They are absolutely oblivious to some of the muck they will be signing for league 1. Only difference between this year's muck and next year's is that they might already know they are muck once they see who they actually sign. TONofmemories
By all accounts they're going with same budget and trying to build a team to win back to back promotions. Im i the only one who doesn't find this too much of a stretch of the imagination? TIME FOR CHANGE!

Im i the only one who doesn't find this too much of a stretch of the imagination? 'By all accounts'. The only one who has mentioned back to back promotions is McKinnon as a deflection from the fact it was HIM that took them down. The only public domain info about budget is from one of their board members who said the budget would decrease by £50k if they reduce ticket prices by just 10%. In fact they are largely getting radio silence and disdain from their board in a way that makes the relationship between Morton fans and our board seem like a Hollywood love story. Ticket prices haven't been set yet, budgets have not been revealed, and as with the transfer talk, most of the budget talk is speculation from their mouth breathers. Reducing their budget by 50k most definitely still morphs ours. They should have more than enough to come up and still have more funds than us for the championship push. TIME FOR CHANGE! Malt
50k is the equivalent to one player, potentially. They will get big crowds next season and don't think it will hit the cunts that hard.

Jamie_M
Reducing their budget by 50k most definitely still morphs ours. They should have more than enough to come up and still have more funds than us for the championship push. Coming back up with a winning mentality to face the shitebags in this division definitely has a potential to springboard a club to the top places in this league. Worked for Livi and Ayr. Not disputing that. To say it is a given is wrong, as is saying their budget is locked in. The £50k was just the only thing that has been mentioned so far - ticket prices haven't been set. They could stay the same, or be reduced further. Nobody actually knows what their budget will be. Some of their fans are talking about withholding from buying season tickets (won't happen) due to the turmoil and the club continue to drop their knickers to any investor that will listen (while largely ignoring the potential fan investment scheme). They have been haemorrhaging money for years, will have reduced income even more next year regardless. Most clubs are struggling financially in this league trying to pay current Championship wages. If Falkirk think all will be rosy paying Championship wages (or as some claim, Premiership wages) down there then they are even more incompetent than the past few years have shown, particularly when they are currently undergoing a £500k cost saving programme throughout the club. Their cash reserves are all but gone, they have minimal assets and the risk of running out of cash is very real. I hope they do overspend down there. They'll be in admin by Christmas. Madton
It has been a couple of years since Falkirk were winning most weeks so if they go down and do just that, they will easily have 4k crowds in League 1. They will romp that league even with a drastically reduced budget which doesn't appear to be the case anyway but time will tell ( a bit like us) Delighted if i'm wrong right enough.... port-ton
It's a huge huge worry that we have offered new contracts to McHugh and Thomson. that's two striker slots filled by players proven not to be good enough. Good people will do good things, bad people will do bad things, but only with religion do good people do bad things!

so72
Thomson must have been offered peanuts and a chance to combine with his other job. 100% a cheap squad option.
port-ton
Telfer was fine towards the end of season but flattered to deceive through most of it. If JJ was still in charge then i'd have been more happy with him staying but Hopkin wants to play a high intensity pressing game and we can't do that while potentially retaining all of Tidser, Telfer, Millar & Mcalister and Lyon without adding at least one more midfielder suited to that style of play so Telfer needed to go. Malt
don't care if he is cheap. We have limited budget and should be attracting the best possible quality.
Scott
McHugh as well, ****. The only reason I can think of behind keeping Thomson is for him to play a similar role that Hopkin had Lee Miller playing when they got promoted. I would’ve been alright with keeping McHugh on as back up but not the pair of them. Both have flattered to deceive the past 2 years.
