vikingTON
Once again, I'm not critcising anyone who's chucked it or is on the verge of it, so no guilt tripping from me. And maybe if I was still living near enough to attend I'd feel the same, I dunno. But if this is the way we're heading, we'll be just another Airdrieesque perma-diddy part-time outfit in a few years, and I can't see us coming back from that. I don't think it's a case of it 'chucking it' altogether so much as not going to every single game because the current system and product on the park is not good enough. This actually happened in the past all the time, as some of the truly stinking, Meadowbank-esque low crowds in the early 90s can attest to. The onus is entirely on the club to get its shambolic house in order and when it does that there's no reason why the core support won't for the most part return. The site is supposed to be a place for the extended 'family' of Morton supporters - having an affinity with people that you don't know, because you share a love of your local football club. It's not supposed to be about point scoring and showing how 'clever' or 'funny' you are, or just being downright rude and offensive to people you don't know, because you can get away with it. Unfortunately, it seems the classic case of people who have little standing/presence in real life, use this forum as a way of making themselves feel as if they are something. It's sad, and I've said that before.. So, having been on Morton forums for about 15 years I guess, I've had enough... well done t*ssers, another Morton supporter driven away. You can all feel happy at how 'clever' you are

Jamie_M
Totally agree, but the onus is and always has been on the club, nothing new there. After years of seeing the fans as an inconvenience, the club have now turned the tables to make it an actual inconvenience for the fans to attend. shaddypeekey
Pretty depressing to read so many fans are chucking it. I know it may be easy for me to say, but are you lads not throwing in the towel a bit too soon? Granted the season so far has been underwhelming to say the least, but with the league as tight as it is, anything can still happen. I watched some truly dreadful Morton teams over the years, I strongly suspect worse than we have now, but the thought of chucking it never entered my head. I may have struggled to muster up much enthusiasm at times, but I still went whenever I could. Not a criticism of anyone, you're of course perfectly within your right to spend your hard-earned dosh as you wish, but it's very sad and worrying that this could just be the start of a terminal decline to perma-diddyleaguedome or even worse. And as the wise prophet Joni Mitchell once said, you don't know what you've got till it's gone. Run Silent, Run Deep... shaddypeekey
Tbh pal, 20 quid a ticket is too high for a lot of people. 40 quid a month minimum to watch an insipid product on the park. I'm picking and choosing games to go to now. Today's a moot point as I'm stuck in Pompey, but that's naw the point! Run Silent, Run Deep... TRVMP
Who stuffed up this time? Keeper again? Keep looking at your phone while you stand on the touch line at Fort Matilda, hopefully a wayward 'rugby pass' catches you right on the bridge of the nose. dunning1874
Narrow 4-4-2 with Salkeld up with McHugh, Colville on the left and McAlister right but tucking in, Lyon at the top of the diamond, although McAlister and Lyon have switched about a bit. Goal and harshly disallowed goal both came from ICT trying to play a high line and being easily undone by balls over the top. This is the best we’ve played in weeks - for all that’s not saying much - but we’re still giving away far too many chances and our inability to deal with any kind of ball into the box could easily have led to an equaliser long before it happened. Hopkin dropped Salkeld back to the right to tighten the midfield up for a while but that didn’t work. GiGi
This is a hard watch. No thought to our play just constant hoofing the ball back to the teuchters to build attacks.
