Hayfever, please read the bit in bold below:

Everyone can do as they please as far as this is concerned. It's not one for me, but anything that is aimed at doing good for Morton will get my best wishes, regardless of whether or not it has a less convincing case than an Asylum Seeker from Pakistan.

What I think is very patronising is people telling others to get behind this idea. Everyone should think for themselves, and nobody needs Andy Ritchie, Alan McGraw or Stuart Duncan to tell them what to do with their money.

Now where have I said that people shouldn't invest in this hairbrained scheme?

I think there's a few on here who are on the leadership team.

No doubt. I wouldn't bet against some of the usual suspects being part of the 'leadership' team.

Do you reckon Salty is on the leadership team?

Yes he is the Health & Safety Officer.

He has a Hat Hard on.

I didn't say you did.

However, in the same post where you say people can do as they wish (thanks) you also say that people doing as they wish (i.e. supporting the idea and encouraging others) is patronising. It's almost like you are making it up as you go along.

And being annoyed at being encouraged to pledge is just plain weird. It's just marketing. If the scheme can't use Morton legends etc to encourage sign up and attract attention then what can they do!?  (have a decent website for one, I agree)

Allan McGraw and George Anderson are member of the MCT Leadership Team.

They are actively informing the MCT LT and the project in general.

We'd expect them to continue to be involved after the initial investment, as their knowledge is important as we wish to challenge the GMFC Board and add value to the outcomes they deliver.

Everyone adds their own piece of specialist knowledge and the idea of the LT is to take these pieces of knowledge and put them together into a winning project.

Not that Capitanus needs me to fight his battles, but I'm guessing his point about ex-players is that they're not just being wheeled out for a photo-op, they're being wheeled out in an attempt to justify the venture, like in the quoted post. It's not an unreasonable point, given how little we actually know about the workings of this.

Why don't we go for total fan ownership?

If it can work for Madrid, Real, then why not for Morton, Greenock?

Real Madrid's legal structure doesn't exist in Scotland, for one.

Let’s close the gates now.

The way St Mirren, Hearts and Motherwell have done it could be something to look at

Would never work for us. Just need to read this forum to gauge that.

Look at the first trust and the shambles that was/is.

Bloody Spanish football fans.... what are you doing sitting around for?

You’re all on the Getafe gravy train... wish I was!

Rather than inviting us to trawl through Twitter, could you just tell us who’s involved?

Rhyming off a couple of ex-players from a bygone era who have given you their backing doesn’t sit to easily for those of us looking for a bit of transparency.

What about those not involved in the Leadership Team? Are there some who are taking a back seat?

I genuinely wish any project that’s of benefit to Morton all the best, but remain far from convinced at the moment about this one. Are there any of those previously involved with the GMST involved? Any potentially divisive local councillors with tendencies to lean towards, Celtic?

In spite of your protestations, I’m really not sure we’re being told everything about everyone involved.

Further to this request that I made to Mr. McLennan for him to tell me who is involved in MCT, and his insistence that ”It's no secret who is involved and we've announced on twitter who the players in the MCT LT are”, to use his own words, I was advised by a friend that it might be worth trawling through Twitter after all, instead of waiting for the information to be placed on my lap (how lazy of me, it’s not as if they’re wanting my money or anything).

Anyway, having gone onto their Twitter, and subsequently their website, I was pretty surprised to read the following;

https://mortonclubtogether.com/QuestionAndAnswer.html

“The most prominent members who have agreed to be named are Graham McLennan, Frank McNeil, Stuart McCartney, Kieran McLennan (Graham’s eldest son) and Graham Barr.”

This piece was dated 27th April, and on 20th May Mr McLennan told us there are no secrets. I’m sorry, but this simply isn’t true. All I’ve asked for all along is transparency, which I don’t think is an unreasonable request, but it seems to be beyond MCT in it’s current form.

Until such time as this is addressed, I’m afraid I can’t bring myself to commit to a body who’s not prepared to tell me exactly what I want to know, and when I specifically ask them to point out something that might not show them telling the whole truth, just ignore the question in the hope it’ll go away.

I’m not prepared to have people who refuse to identify themselves be responsible for my money- it’s ridiculous that MCT allow members of their Leadership Team to remain anonymous whilst expecting well meaning fans to stump up.

I didn't say you did.

What you said below implies that I did say this:

...and people shouldn't do that just because you aren't convinced by the project?

However, in the same post where you say people can do as they wish (thanks) you also say that people doing as they wish (i.e. supporting the idea and encouraging others) is patronising. It's almost like you are making it up as you go along.

Funnily enough, I thing that the MCT is making this up as he/they are going along.

And being annoyed at being encouraged to pledge is just plain weird. It's just marketing. If the scheme can't use Morton legends etc to encourage sign up and attract attention then what can they do!? (have a decent website for one, I agree)

I don't think that Peanut McNeil, Andy Ritchie and all these chain-smoking 'legends' from yesteryear understand this scheme/idea/pipedream any more than anyone else, perhaps even less so, therefore considering this should they be telling others what to do?
