I wonder how long it will be before the GM changes his mind on going cashless and admits that he is totally out of touch with the Inverclyde fan base. An apology would be asking too much.

The pricing of the dinner and it being black tie are two examples that come to mind. I’m sure there are more.

It’s literally a trial, an opportunity to gauge effectiveness and gather feedback.

We’re at a stage now where some people are so blinded by their intolerance of the GM, justified or not, that there’s an unhelpful attempt to create a hysterical reaction to every little thing the club does. Black tie dinners and cashless trials, for example, are complete non issues.

Meanwhile, we’ve got a manager who’s visibly knackered, frustrated and, off the back of a terrible result, openly asking for help in the form of a resolution to the Andy Millen situation. We might not know the details of it but serious issues like this are where the GM should be feeling the pressure. Until I hear more I’m of the opinion that it’s gone on far too long and is now seriously affecting the teams performance. Figure out what’s happened and conclude the disciplinary process one way or another, hopefully with a reinstatement and a warning if required.

He doesn’t even reply to emails from people offering to put their money into the club in the form of sponsorship, and all these issues that are being discussed were issues before the Andy Millen incident. You might find them irrelevant, but the more of these that arise, the more his competence will be called into question. Not replying to an offer of sponsorship isn’t a non-issue in any industry, let alone at a cash-strapped provincial football club for which every penny is a prisoner.

Of course, the effect of Millen’s suspension is the most pertinent issue around the club at the moment, and of course, he should be feeling the pressure around that.

But after three weeks, and with a long list of other issues in the past, is it any surprise that questions are being asked? He had an extended honeymoon period when in the eyes of many, he could do little wrong. That’s over now, and the cracks are well and truly beginning to appear. That’s his issue to fix, and ours to highlight when we see something we don’t agree with.

I don’t sense that he is under serious pressure over the Millen situation though, certainly not as much as he should be. So why is that? We have a serious issue at the club being mishandled and it isn’t getting the attention it deserves. Maybe this is the culmination of a series of incidents, or maybe too much has been made of some other, trivial issues, that are serving only to dilute the criticism to this one, allowing the GM to bat this away along with the rest.

To be clear, I didn’t use the lack of reply to an offer of sponsorship as an example of a non issue because I agree with you on that. And funnily enough, the incident you’re playing down, regarding your interest in the SLO role, is one I would be far more unhappy with if I were in your shoes. Maybe then I’d be less forgiving.

Or maybe the only meaningful source of pressure comes from the manager and my opinion doesn’t matter anyway. But if he is reading, as you suggest: get the situation resolved and help the manager do his job!

If the situation regarding Millen is impacting the team them it needs to be resolved immediately, one way or the other. How the fuck does it take this long to establish the facts and come to a decision? It's not as if they're being asked to work out the identity of Jack the Ripper.

I was probably willing to give this guy the benefit of the doubt a lot longer than some, but I've belatedly come round to Toby's way of thinking.

Given the complaint has come from Raith I am assuming the SPFL have been notified also & if so has Millen been charged by them? If not then surely Millen should either be given a warning about his future conduct or relieved of his duties. Given the Raith game was almost a month ago it has dragged on without any further information provided.

I’m absolutely willing to backtrack if this is out of the clubs hands, but you’d hope it would have been made public if that was the case.

I’d typed out a big reply to this and deleted it, as there’s no need to air any dirty linen in public. I’ve already spoken to you about why you were suspended and let Dean know what you had to say, but needless to say, I can see a number of flaws in your argument. I’ll tell you them in private.

There isn't any 'dirty linen'.   Nor is there any 'argument' at least not on my part, so christ only knows what your finding flaws with.  I know why I was 'suspended' and accepted it.  Now it is incumbent of you to accept my request and delete all my accounts and their associated posts.  There is no 'huff' on my part either, and there is certainly no hard feelings towards Dean or yourself, or indeed towards any other member from the messageboard.  I am quite comfortable with my decision, its you that seems to have a issue with it.

Also, i've never once said I would 'boycott' your forum, so I dont know where you got that from.  I wish the forum and everyone associated with it well, and I may even visit from time to time, however it's for Morton supporters and I've not been to a game for a few seasons now and i've got really nothing worthwhile to contribute here.  So rather than piss anyone off and rather than get banned again, I'm deciding to move on of my own accord.

MCT membership- no, you’re not vindicated. Joining MCT is about Morton, not about what’s in the interests of the individual. Yes, we all want to be treated equally, which isn’t an unreasonable request, but isn’t happening. There may not be a Morton anymore if it wasn’t for MCT, or they could be kicking about with Cowdenbeath and Gala Fairydean Rovers. The Raes had had enough and weren’t prepared to fund it. That the club have appointed (in my eyes) a dreadful GM doesn’t change that. I get that the continuation of Morton is perhaps more important to me than it is to you, but MCT were the only serious option.

Thanks for telling me my thoughts.

I do feel vindicated in not choosing to join an organisation which has contempt for its fellow members, as you've just described.  I was always confident that there would have been interested parties that came to the fore, however one of the stumbling blocks was the debts accrued by the Rae Family tenure.  Indeed, that rich Laird character was hovering about the club for long enough looking for his opportunity, however thanks to the MCT scheme it now seems he has the green light to play the bigshot chairman whilst everyone else foots the bill.

So far as everyone (the fans) know....the suspension has been implemented by the club.

Now as to whether the SPFL have told the club to sort it out internally or we will get involved...who knows?

I bought this, came through the door earlier this week. Have only skimmed it so far but it seems decent enough. Just a shame something more official wasn't produced. Another missed opportunity in our anniversary year.
