The red tartan is the exact same design and material as the blue tartan retro top. The white one has the sponsor and badge through the material (unsure what to call that) and the material is very similar to the original. 1 There's a storm on the horizon And for that I can't see the sun For I'll keep a waiting on the pavement For the ice cream van to come

The red one is a definite for me.

The process is pretty interesting to see - dye sublimation printing.

Yeah I'm sure there was a vote the last time which led to the chevrons and blue tartan being made. The 2 released this week were the other options. Matchwinner usually make a lot of noise about new releases as well as the club. Toby Posted October 7, 2024 Posted October 7, 2024 https://www.poppyscotlandstore.com/collections/pin-badges-football-badges Disappointed there’s no Morton pin badge this year on the Poppy Scotland website.

The Earl Haig Fund or whatever its current moniker is a contentious organisation. If I were giving to a veterans charity I'd much sooner give my money to Erskine rather than them.
Stevie Aitken's Love Child Posted October 25, 2024 Posted October 25, 2024 Seems a little unnecessary, and it's not going to "enhance the experience" or any of that nonsense. Having both options for the pie stall has been a positive step, not sure why that needs to change. What happens if the tech goes down? The turnstiles failing multiple times a season should show that a back up is needed. 1
Ton in Shawlands Posted October 25, 2024 Posted October 25, 2024 Probably doing it for the same reasons many businesses do it, cuts down potential petty theft and any insurance costs down to having to store cash on the premises. On the other hand I can easily picture a stall full of hot cooked food, a huge queue & no working payment system.
Jamie_M Posted October 25, 2024 Author Posted October 25, 2024 Totally understand the benefits of it but I do question the robustness of the systems at Cappielow to handle it. See the turnstiles for example. And they are going to have to rip down those tragic 'minimum £5 spend for card transactions' signs they have up pretty sharpish.
Cet Homme Charmant Posted October 25, 2024 Posted October 25, 2024 Do you guys seriously still use cash in the UK? I can't remember the last cash payment I made, but it was certainly pre-covid. If businesses throughout the world can operate seamlessly and reliably with card only payment, there's surely no logical reason Morton can't.

Cash-only services in Inverclyde (taxis, takeaways, pubs etc.) have clung on a bit longer than elsewhere for some reason. That's been changing recently though.

There is a card payment option available through the Inverclyde Taxis app, but in my experience, if you select that option and try to book a taxi, it's rare to get anyone to pick up the job. Pain the arse because I often don't have cash on me.

TRVMP Posted October 25, 2024 Posted October 25, 2024 A good change. Maybe a bit sudden but it had to happen at some point.

I don't mind it but the pie queue is normally full of weans sent up for stuff and there's a lot of older people in our fan base that struggle to use the turnstiles so not sure it's the right type of customer for it. I get it's a trial but feels a bit rushed. More of a phased approach with options for 50/50 tickets and encouraging card at the pie stall might have helped.

They've been taking the slow encouragement approach towards online ticket sales for a few years now. Still there's queues every week at the ticket booth. Sometimes, the only option is to rip the bandaid off and force it.
HamCam Posted October 25, 2024 Posted October 25, 2024 Add most barbers, nail bars etc to the cash only hold-outs. Good to hear Morton are seeking to lose the reputation of being money laundering chancers. Like others though I remain to be convinced about the clubs ability to seamlessly integrate modern technology into the match day experience.
