Malt
Ayr currently leading Ross County 1-0. Currently six ex-Morton players on the pitch (Ross Doohan, Declan McDaid, Andy Murdoch, Brian Graham, Michael Gardyne and Jamie Lindsay) and Declan McManus on the bench. Two of them could be playing in the premiership with Ross County, and have played there before with two other clubs, and we didn’t get a dime for Either of Them. Same with McDaid and Murdoch. EanieMeany
Graham's just got his third to put County 3-1 up. League over, it seems. AWMSC
AyrshireTon
Graham's just got his third to put County 3-1 up. League over, it seems. A perfect hat-trick too. McGhee needs some support, there's no-one backing him up. Hayes playing it forward, Bell being forced to do it all alone, now forward from Marr, here's Ritchie, still Andy Ritchie, look at the control... That is a marvellous goal from Andy Ritchie. Twenty minutes on the clock and Morton's supporters come alive. A goal which epitomises the control, the arrogance, the cheek of Andy Ritchie. EanieMeany
It's depressing how many players there are who've been unremarkable for one reason or other at Morton and went on to be good. There's likely to be another couple added to that list from this season's squad too. Surely no other team is such a graveyard for players? The boy we had on loan from Celtic who played for Dundee Utd didn’t look great for us but seems to be doing the goods for them. There are so many players who were average or poor and went on to deliver elsewhere. Colin McMenamin was interviewed on Alba a while back and all but slated the backroom Set up at cappielow and said it was night and day from County and he just couldn’t adjust to it. There's a few cases where it's been the player that's been at fault - Shankland being a big mess and Gardyne who admitted that his attitude wasn't good enough - but it just feels like there's been a host of guys who were good before they came and/or good again when they left. I suppose it could be coincidence but the entire aura that surrounds the club suggests that it's just a pretty shite place to work. AWMSC

I suppose it could be coincidence but the entire aura that surrounds the club suggests that it's just a pretty s***e place to work. A lot of players have come through our doors since 2003. Stuart McCluskey came in as Captain with a reputation and he ended up being a complete cunt. Scott McLaighlin came on loan and Livi put him into their opening game V Rangers in the premier league then he came back to us a few months later and...well, we all Know he is up there on the cunt list. Derek Lilley, was never going to hit the previous standard but we let him go to St Johnston which was a step up. James McPake - all be it we had him as a striker. Partaluu - gained an international cap post Morton. Neil McFarlane - was it QOS he went to and was ok for them? Brian Graham - Done well post Morton. Joe McKee? Barrie McKay Shankland If we done a list of players who came at a cost or big reputation and just didn’t work, could Be here all day.
El gofer
Did mccfarlane not come to us from Qots and then pretty much retire? That's is another group we could look at. Players we got past their sell by date. Mark McLaughlin, Neil Mccfarlane, Derek Lilley the second time, the Youngs, Paul Wright, Hopkin the second time, Alan Mahood the third time. Current squad...? 20.1.

McFarlane was alright if a bit old, if memory serves, and we got one really good season from McLaughlin after which his legs went. Wright was rotten apart from one goal, and the Youngs were bawbags. Seen to remember one of them being a bit better than the other, possibly Derek. Was it Darren who admitted to chucking it for the last few games of a season? Got a decent job with SFA and that’s why he never returned after injury.
