TRVMP
£20k is noted in the accounts for that year for a player sale. I think it could only be Fred. Poor stuff if there isn't a sell-on clause though. Fair play.
Jamie_M
60k in transfers over 16 or 17 years is it? Very poor. It's a track record that makes our player selling future strategy a dead cert to be a roaring success.
Scott
Derek Lyle free to leave QOS. Iain Russell likely going to sign for Dumbarton.

Malt
Strange one with Russell. I assume he has been playing at some level to maintain fitness and he has not just been plucked from the Sofa? Derek Lyle is a good option on the bench with his experience.
HamCam
Iain Russell confirmed coming out of retirement and signs for Dumbarton. They are in talks to sign Derek Lyle to partner him. Only a matter of time until Peter Weatherson is announced and they rename themselves the Morton has-beens - forever in our shadow.
BluebirdTon
Derek Lyle is the Teddy Sheringham of this league. Still a very good option to have and can only assume QoS let go to free up wages. Malt
They must have players lined up as that is McFadden and Lyle leaving. Two experienced players. I see Livingston looking for a few more players.
Jamie_M
There has been a bit of to and fro about whether Lyle has been told to leave. He has been in the press saying he has been and he is devastated, Naysmith saying he hasn't. Maybe he has been told he is dropping down the pecking order (strange as they are also losing Kane back to St Johnstone) and he took that as leave. vikingTON
Lyle is nearly 37, is finished, and looked as good as finished after his stint at The Famous. Reality has finally caught up with his bizarre coda to a career that should have plunged into the seaside leagues five years ago. If Lyle and Russell can keep Falkirk nailed in their play-off box then that's great. I'm very sceptical about that outcome though. Dumbarton would have been better off trying to sign Darryl Duffy instead IMO. The site is supposed to be a place for the extended 'family' of Morton supporters - having an affinity with people that you don't know, because you share a love of your local football club. It's not supposed to be about point scoring and showing how 'clever' or 'funny' you are, or just being downright rude and offensive to people you don't know, because you can get away with it. Unfortunately, it seems the classic case of people who have little standing/presence in real life, use this forum as a way of making themselves feel as if they are something. It's sad, and I've said that before.. So, having been on Morton forums for about 15 years I guess, I've had enough... well done t*ssers, another Morton supporter driven away. You can all feel happy at how 'clever' you are
