Cat10
We pretty much played with 10 men today as Muirhead put very little effort in and showed that a new striker is priority in the next window. Happy with a clean sheet on the road
HamCam
Neither team did enough to win today. Morton were back to their effective best defensively but lacked a cutting edge up front. Airdrie were just ordinary and never looked like scoring. The most entertainment was watching Imrie and Millen on the touchline - talk about animated and as for the scudding the water bottles took from the management duo. All in all it was a 'fair' result in miserable conditions. We missed Oakley as a focal point and a fit Quitongo to stretch their defence. All to play for. Alibi
Mcgrattan was poor today, Muirhead too. We looked much more dangerous in the second half, especially after the subs came on. Bearne had a great chance but shot when a cutback was probably a better option. Wilson was excellent. Strap’s long throws were wasted as it is a wide pitch and he was only reaching the near edge of the six yard box at best - needed someone to come short for a knock on. We need more firepower up front. Oakley will help with that but having Jai back would make a big difference. A point is ok, but disappointing. Need at least a point next week. Depending on when Jai returns, I’d say we do need another option up front. Muirhead is a good player, and put in a hell of a shift last week against QP. But too often he doesn’t do enough playing as our out and out striker when Oakley isn’t involved.

Your desire for another option is based on two of our first picks currently being unavailable though. If they're ready to play, then adding another starter quality option makes no sense given the limits of our budget. Muirhead and Oakley together is already a bit of an awkward fit (although they do partner well). Our backup options were tasked with stepping up to the mark today. They either didn't have a good day (McGrattan), made the wrong decisions after getting into promising positions (Bearne), or worked hard without having an attacking impact (Boyd). Beyond that, I'd rather giving O'Boy or another player the occasional chance rather than adding to forward areas before the summer. It should be a one in, one out policy and I don't see us transferring out any options until that point. The site is supposed to be a place for the extended 'family' of Morton supporters - having an affinity with people that you don't know, because you share a love of your local football club. It's not supposed to be about point scoring and showing how 'clever' or 'funny' you are, or just being downright rude and offensive to people you don't know, because you can get away with it. Unfortunately, it seems the classic case of people who have little standing/presence in real life, use this forum as a way of making themselves feel as if they are something. It's sad, and I've said that before.. So, having been on Morton forums for about 15 years I guess, I've had enough... well done t*ssers, another Morton supporter driven away. You can all feel happy at how 'clever' you are
Tubes
Looked like Muirhead was walking a tightrope today as suspension wise it’s one more yellow and he’ll trigger a ban. Will take the point. Brilliant turn around in the last week or so, long may it continue!

Away to Inverness without Oakley, Quitongo and Muirhead would be a bit of a challenge to say the least. Hopefully the gloves are off next week. ChampTon
I have to admit I wouldn't be against another striker in January. As much as I would like to see O'Boy utilised from time to time, we really only have one player I'd deem as a striker and that's big George. The others (Muirhead, Jai, Bearne and Boyd) are all forwards but not your classic CF. I think the priority would be depending where Strapp, French and Wilson all end up come January. I've said since the summer that we need an alternative to Oakley but with boyd, jai, mcgrattan, bearne, Muirhead and to an extent Crawford who can all play forward positions I can't see us signing another striker. Muirhead as am alternative is fine as is jai when fit There's a storm on the horizon And for that I can't see the sun For I'll keep a waiting on the pavement For the ice cream van to come
