Tidser doesn't seem to have impressed Falkirk fans much yet this season, and it looks like he's not playing in the same position McKinnon had him flourishing in at Morton. Wee shame.

Good people will do good things, bad people will do bad things, but only with religion do good people do bad things!

Good to see Sir Richard putting the little people back in their box.

The site is supposed to be a place for the extended 'family' of Morton supporters - having an affinity with people that you don't know, because you share a love of your local football club. It's not supposed to be about point scoring and showing how 'clever' or 'funny' you are, or just being downright rude and offensive to people you don't know, because you can get away with it. Unfortunately, it seems the classic case of people who have little standing/presence in real life, use this forum as a way of making themselves feel as if they are something. It's sad, and I've said that before..

So, having been on Morton forums for about 15 years I guess, I've had enough... well done t*ssers, another Morton supporter driven away. You can all feel happy at how 'clever' you are

Gavin Gunning signs for Billericay Town

They're busily Gretna-ing their way around the southern non-league scene. It will probably end in tears one day, but hopefully Sir Gavin can lead them to promotion in the meantime, because they're an utterly hated outfit down there and this will lead to all kinds of "AMF" wailing and gnashing.

Not really.

Close to home for him. They will be serious top 4 contenders. A chance for him to get a full season under his belt at a level he should cope with. Also a chance to gain a place in the hall of fame by denying Failkirk promotion!!

Can someone interpret this for the old of thinking, please?

"AMF" is "Against Modern Football", which usually manifests itself in being against all the trappings of the modern game such as weird kick-off times, overseas tours, the relentless televising of everything, the increased globalization of squads and so on...

... but the kind of people who are "AMF" also seem to be against everything that isn't flat-caps and the Hovis theme, so it metastasizes into just hating money in football generally. So although people throwing money at vanity clubs is as old as professionalism itself - see Glossop North End for example - when clubs like Billericay get a bit uppity, these guys come out of the woodwork to appeal to the Corinthian spirit of the game.

See also: AFC Wimbledon fans, FCUM fans, Celtic fans, St. Pauli fans, SV Austria Salzburg (RIP). Some of them have justifiable grievances but they are generally a bunch of humorless, puritanical scolds.

That said, the goings-on at Billericay are pretty hilarious. The owner, Glenn Tamplin, is a "character", and has previously been manager of the club and... well, just have a look at his Twitter: https://twitter.com/glenntamplin

His 15 year old boy is a regular feature in the first team.

The best Glenn moment was the time he gave the homeless alcoholic a job at the club, with big Twitter fanfare, only to catch the guy on CCTV 2 days later clearing the place in bin bags. It’s comedy gold!

Tamplin's Tomfooleries are absolutely superb. Sacking and then re-hiring himself as manager within 48 hours of each other was another highlight.
