Dunfermline v Morton 01/03/25

Recommended Posts

Definitely a bit of a 6 pointer in terms of the destination of our season. Win today and we'll be no more than a couple of wins from safety and a focus on the slim chance of making the promotion playoffs. A draw will edge us towards safety and midtable obscurity. A loss today and we're pulled back into thinking about the relegation playoff spot (albeit still with a decent advantage).

100% a cross from Moffat, but an absolute peach of a cross. If it gets the near post flick from Reynolds it's going in barring a wonder save and (evidently!) missing everyone takes it in at the back post.

The pitch makes this not much of a game, as both teams can just lie in wait of the other's inevitable mistakes in possession in their own half. I was a bit concerned at the number of set-pieces we were coughing up at 0-0 but since taking the lead we've played it well and Dunfermline look devoid of ideas, unsurprisingly on this nick of a pitch. A set-piece equaliser or easy goal from our own misplaced passes aren't out of the question but we should really see this out from this position.

Shocking result, now only 4 points from 9th place.

2nd half utter garbage up there with the worst for a while, desperately need Adeloye back and Wilson if they are out any longer than a few weeks I fear the worst.

That's a never wearing a Morton shirt again performance from more than one of those wage thieves. Absolutely disgraceful and we're firmly in the relegation battle.

That was the worst 45 minute performance from a Morton team in a long long time. Players should be ashamed of themselves. Came out and thought the game was won against an utterly dreadful Dunfermline team.

Boyes and Delaney imposters in that 2nd half.

Right back into the relegation battle when only a few weeks ago, 4th was looking like a possibility. Always the same every season.

I’ve not been this furious in a long long time after a game.
