First Game Of The Season.....

I'm getting hitched on October 7th - delighted to see there's no game that day.

McGhee needs some support, there's no-one backing him up.
Hayes playing it forward, Bell being forced to do it all alone, now forward from Marr, here's Ritchie, still Andy Ritchie, look at the control...

That is a marvellous goal from Andy Ritchie. Twenty minutes on the clock and Morton's supporters come alive. A goal which epitomises the control, the arrogance, the cheek of Andy Ritchie.

That's international weekend- there'll be a Challenge Cup game if we're still in it.

No great loss - that competition has become a bit of a farce now.

Apologies in advance to Inverally for making him (potentially) miss a Challenge cup tie......

Interesting to see the odds at this stage. We are in sixth place = with Queen of the South and at 16/1.

With BV giving 1/5 odds EW for first three places it must be a decent punt.

Largest amount so far placed on St Mirren as second favourites after Dundee United.

The Famous will be at Sligo that weekend swording some peasants back into the 16th Century. Glorious.

The site is supposed to be a place for the extended 'family' of Morton supporters - having an affinity with people that you don't know, because you share a love of your local football club. It's not supposed to be about point scoring and showing how 'clever' or 'funny' you are, or just being downright rude and offensive to people you don't know, because you can get away with it. Unfortunately, it seems the classic case of people who have little standing/presence in real life, use this forum as a way of making themselves feel as if they are something. It's sad, and I've said that before..

So, having been on Morton forums for about 15 years I guess, I've had enough... well done t*ssers, another Morton supporter driven away. You can all feel happy at how 'clever' you are

I'm not keen on having the derby so early in the season, but going through there on the second last day could be great.

Could be like the Dundee United game - neither side really trying if they're both in the play-offs already.

That's the best price. We're as low as 10/1.

16/1 is a good value bet though considering our squad is currently in better nick than some of the more fancied teams IMO.

Peter Weatherson is the greatest player since Ritchie, and should be assigned 'chairman for life'

I didn't actually notice this until it was mentioned on another thread on P and B, but not playing on Boxing Day is absolutely shan. There's no excuse of Christmas falling on a weekend this year either. Get that home midweek fixture against Livingston in 2018 moved forward - shan though that game is - to get an extra 1000 through the gate quite comfortably. If either team gets to the later stages of the Challenge Cup then our game at Dunfermline on November 11 might also have to be rescheduled. In either case, use that prime commercial date for a football match up instead of playing a midweek fixture in March.

Why Scottish football doesn't follow the English policy of playing as many games as possible over Christmas and Easter is a continued mystery. Compared to running unnecessary midweek rounds it's an obvious money-spinner for all involved.
