"then There's Shimmin,"

New manager in place but still the same cryptic messages about Shimmin. All sounded positive a few weeks back when it was reported that he was back in full training, and now this.

Other than that, some pretty positive news there. Almost a full squad again, although I imagine that MacFalane, Masterton and Walker wont be risked this weekend.

I don't want to say "I told you so" but I told you so! I don't think we'll ever see Dom in a Morton Strip again. The only thing which disappoints me is that his contract is until June whereas I had thought that it finished in December (more money down the drain)!

Some people on here were very forthright in their condemnation on a few people when we said months ago that Dominic wouldn't play for Morton again. The usual "name your sources" shite.

Good to see that the realisation is hitting home.

Short of a major turn of events, we have seen the last of Dominic Shimmin in a Morton jersey.

Once more, for the record, he is fit to play if selected. He won't be.

There is fault on both sides of the argument, and things are at an impasse - probably the best result for all concerned to be honest.

i no there is something really wrong here but is it just me who will be happy to see him back playing if he does, he's and absolute solid defender , but if he comes back a few bounce games may be needed for him to get back to grips

I love when the odd thing people have said ages ago comes to fruition and they come out with stuff like this.

For every time those speshul few in the know get something right there are enough times they get it wrong to negate anything they say!

This is surely clear cut.

If he is breaking is contract by not playing then he should be sacked.

If he is not going to play, pay him off and get rid.

If he has said something then he should have been fined.

Why is he still here if he will not play, this is pointless.... the wage may be wasted but we hold on to his registration and send him back to London...

The club owe us an explanation here as he clearly the most talented player on the books and its not like we are holding out for a transfer fee, if he is injured then thats the answer, if he refuses to play and is fit, then why cant the club just come out and say it..

If he is putting in a certified "sick note" there is not a lot the Club can do about it.

If the Club pay him off he will have quite a few grand in his tail and could find a new Club in January. I would keep him here till the end of the season and make him come to training every day, fit or not.

Don't blame me I voted Yes!!!! - We tried to tell you !!!!!

Nagging injuries can happen and keep people out of teams. I don't really trust "I heard from a mate", so it stands to reason that I wait for more obvious hints, and they have certainly come from James Grady.

Yes there is. As with any other employer long term sick can allow the club to ask for an independent medical assessment (if they have the option in place). If he is pulling the wool over the clubs eyes this may go some way to allowing his contract to be torn up.

Take the chance of a tribunal, if something is being hid the player won't want to expose himself to that.

But then again....

I was a big fan of Shimmin when he was playing for us however my patience is wearing thin. I have heard a few stories and the guy sounds like a chancer.

What annoys me more is the fact that his monthly wage probably costs the club the income gained from about 100 adults paying £15 at the gate at twice a month.

If and it is a big if if there is nothing medically wrong with him why do Morton not terminate his contract due to him breaching it. Then again he is probably pulling the wool over the medics eyes.

I know people have been slating rumours on her but I have heard that he was given a date to be fit for selection or we will sacking him and taking advice on whether we can reclaim wages spent on a player that was unwilling to fulfill the terms of his contract ..

Just a rumour
