Newest member of our family, and he'll be coming home on 19 August. His name is Osborne.

Does anyone else on this board have a Great Dane, by chance?

I like cats, too (actually all animals), but I'm allergic to cats.

A Great Dane - surely Sorenson or Bertelsen would have been more appropriate.

Dread to think what your monthly food bill will eventually be.

Sorenson or Bertelsen? Don't understand.

My family had a Dane when I was growing up. I'm well adept at how much they eat...as pups, two cups 3 times a day. As adults it's down to twice a day. We're also thinking of feeding him a natural diet, meaning chicken, beef, etc. It reduces the chance of bloat, which Danes are subjected to because of their size.
