I read the Labour candidate worked for IBM for 28 years and is the current Inverclyde Council leader. Both candidates were born in Greenock with one still residing here.

I'm almost tempted to say who cares? Let's hope the days of Scotland sending politicians to London will soon be at an end.

Anyway, I hope Anne McLaughlin gets elected!

Don't blame me I voted Yes!!!! - We tried to tell you !!!!!

30 June date not yet confirmed but more than likely to be that. Just before the Westminster summer break.

The labour party has a members debate on Greenock coastguard station on Wednesday, ideal time to move the writ, local snp still think June 30 I'm actually nit convinced to be honest

We are not home and dry, we could not even be said to be home and vigorously towelling ourselves off!

I had a Labourite round my door the other night trying to recruit me!!! ( no chance of that EVER happening!)I informed him of this and he left quietly! I think unfortunately that they will hold the seat although not by so many, I am confident of s strong SNP challenge.

SNP - STRONGER FOR SCOTLAND

Iain McKenzie will win this at a canter.

Probably with an increased majority.

A good local candidate who has, over the past few years, got of his erse and worked hard for the people of Inverclyde.

I honestly can't see why you'd vote for anyone else.

Maybe because on Thursday I'm off to watch my primary school get closed, following in the footsteps of the high school Mackenzie closed

Yes but in that time you have two high schools that were demolished and re-built into state of the art facilities and a brand new School built over the Ravenscraig pitches.

Not sure about the increased majority probably a much reduced one. In way this is like a mini 'independence' referendum.

Because he's another useless Labour clown who will achieve nothing at Westminster, whereas every SNP MP that is elected, while equally powerless in voting numbers at Westminster, is another reminder to the ConDems that Scotland is on its way back to independence.

Remember Labour's feeble 50? Well, Labour are still as feeble and there really is no point in electing a Labour MP for Inverclyde. Might as well send a tailor's dummy.

"Any nation given the opportunity to regain its national sovereignty and which then rejects it is so far beneath contempt that it is hard to put words to it."

Yes tell me which private company built the schools and I'll thank them,

Yes and across from that ravenscraig school a thousand pupils watch theta high tech school from a dilapidated s***ehole

Labour must be worried had one of their canvasser's at the door today (never got any in the last 2 elections), wasn't local probably sent from the "British Labour Party".

5-1, Five bloody One!

As far as I'm concerned Labour have had decades to try and help this town and have don hee haw, hopefully time for a change.

However with the MSP vote being so close I can see all the Labour monkeys turning out in force to vote McKenzie in. :(

No Monster Loony candidate?

Thought they did every by-election?

Fresh stain on the floor when I moved in. He may have checked out short of a useful amount of blood.

Vote for Labour, please no. No harm to their candidate but he's hardly a success story head of Inverclyde council , he'll need someone to fill in his expenses form as his arithmetic is pretty dire.

More black holes in their accounts than the entire universe.

Anyway illegal war, letting the banks away with creating this financial mess and their response put up a guy who makes the banks mismanagement seem like a good day at the office.

Support the Pig Society .

We (ok me ) will not be running but will be campaigning in a futile attempt in getting people who don't usually vote to participate and create some light relief during the election.

We are campaigning to make blue rinses compulsory for the over 65's and thats just the men.

See the Pig Society we plan to get folk to vote for us while not paying the £500 it costs to stand. Hows that for austerity.
