  1. Past hour
  2. Cool your jets. Literally only 1 club has released such an update so far. But aye, shouldn't be too long if the conversations were taking place from yesterday.
  3. Today
  4. Gavin Reilly leaving QoS to and is joining Arbroath. He is apparently starting an apprenticeship outside of football and wants to play part time. Good luck to him
  5. I think someone mentioned that the players were being told yesterday where they stand going into summer, so I'd imagine we'll be hearing some news over the next few days.
  6. I thought from what had been said recently that we would have had by now the list of players being released and those with whom contract discussions are underway. Is that imminent?
  7. The bit in bold. The club are missing a trick by not getting that Fat Matt character to shout at people from a passing motor.
  8. Yesterday
  9. End of the day players come players go Morton will always be here.
  10. All fair enough. I spoke to him about it at the AGM and it was addressed the following day, and my pal’s happy, so fair enough, benefit of the doubt and all that. I do like a moan, but Warren Hawke or Dave MacKinnon he ain’t.
  11. Credit to the Tele for keeping on-message and naming them correctly
  12. I’ve no doubt the incidents you mention could’ve been handled differently, but in a similar situation I was left more impressed. I imagine I was one of many who contacted the club after the Partick game to raise concerns. I was happy with the swift and honest response I received, and the manner in which the improvements were implemented. There’s a lot about the club which seems to be moving in the right direction, but I won’t pretend to know enough about the inner workings to know who to credit. He has a big job now to support the manager with what looks like a significant squad rebuild so hopefully he’s up to the task.
  13. In the sense that I don’t see much by way of short term gain, other than some merchandising spin offs if kids want new strips etc. The season ticket for that age group is free anyway and is included in this package. Loss leader’s maybe not the correct terminology, but I expect the club plan for the benefits of this project to be more long term than immediate.
  14. I'm not sure how it could prove to be an actual loss-leader but the marketing is definitely crucial. We could be offering the best deal in the world - and this is a very good deal - but unless the club also aggressively market it then it's not going to deliver much. The club website and the Tele aren't enough - we should be finding ways to get this information (quite possibly actual, physical fliers) to every school class in the area. By the school holidays begin there should be an annoying wean in every household, guilt-tripping their parents into buying a season ticket and assorted tat, with the events to follow of course.
  15. Ah well, good player who gave his all for us but not irreplaceable. The club should not be offering deals outwith its means and unfortunately that leaves us with a risk of other clubs poaching our players. Partick’s day will come. Be a shame if both he and Oakley are starting for them next season but I’m confident Imrie will find suitable alternatives.
  16. Gutted to lose him but not the end of the world, if he was going to anyone else I would wish him luck but that doesn't extend to Partick. We obviously offered him a decent deal and he decided against it if others like Strapp and Oakley follow I won't be surprised but that's just football players come and go hopefully it's not a compete rebuild we need but I wouldn't be surprised if there are only a few from our best 11 who we see next season.
  17. Don’t care what age I was when he was with us, but not giving us the opportunity to get a birthday card signed by Ross Forbes c.2017 was the worst thing this club didn’t do since the due diligence on Hugh Scott was patched.
  18. It's fae Blue (and white hoops)
  19. Unfortunately we can't and shouldn't be trying to compete with Partick. Crawford is a good player and I'm gutted he's going but he's not irreplaceable. Dougie will hopefully have planned ahead for players staying and going.
  20. https:/www.greenocktelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/24301757.robbie-crawford-rejects-incredible-morton-deal-partick-return As expected it seems we tabled a 2 year deal with money we thought he couldn't turn down. Ah well, onto other targets.
  21. Aye, much better than just letting weans in for nothing as was the case about ten years ago and just didn’t work. It’ll probably prove to be a bit of a loss-leader, but I hope they market the fuck out of it. A lot more pro-active and forward-thinking than any previous attempts at increasing the support.
  22. Yeah really good stuff, no complaints on any prices either.
  23. Through the League Cup games into the start of the season, Crawford looked like he was taking his game to the next level. Adding more goals and assists to his game would make him a player who might be able to step up a level. He didn't really keep that up, though. He reverted to being a player who you'd be happy to have in the team every week without ever really going to threaten PotY awards or anything like that. Maybe more of a loss for us than a gain for them, because I'm not sure if he improves their starting 11 but we might struggle to find a replacement. He plays a huge amount of minutes with very little in the way of injuries, and despite not pushing his game on to the next level he never really has a particularly bad game. We'd miss his energy, fitness and consistency. You know the minimum level your going to get with him, and that's hard to replace.
  24. Great work by the club getting the season tickets out early and the team ton initiative up and running.
  25. Good to see the club straight off the mark with season tickets as soon as the season ends, and a good scheme for under 12s as well to still both engage them and generate income while keeping the season tickets free. https://gmfc.net/team-ton/
  26. The "Team Ton" thing for under 12s looks like a great idea.
  27. Season ticket info is out: https://gmfc.net/the-heartbeat-of-inverclyde-2024-25-season-tickets/ 295 quid for an early bird MCT member is quite good.
  28. Yeah, I agree. I’m more concerned about the Crawford story for now to be honest. Carries a bit more weight when I see a story coming from Scott Burns, who’s generally on the money, rather than some dumpling like Hyndland Maw on Twitter.
