He played in Beijing. Not in the UK. Will require clearance......another one.

Is this one for next season? Surely they still don't think we can stay up.

Probably a mixture of both.

We all know how long the O'Connor saga went on with clearance.

We'll probably sign him until the summer, he'll be brilliant, and sign for Rangers or Dundee in the summer. The Morton way.

Or Morton way part 2: he'll be pish...we'll bin him to a lower team then he'll score about 3 against us every game.

Maybe it's just me, but I don't feel all that comfortable with my team seeking out the dregs of world football for players to compete in the 3rd tier of Scottish Football.

Surely to fuck we can find a squad of good young Scottish/British players for the task.

Haven't you read the PortTon manual for singning foreign players?

I was actually being serious for once. Regardless if we stay FT or not, the 3rd and 4th tier are part-time league set-ups. IMO if we can't compete in them using homegrown talent then we are being disrespectful to the emerging talent in the Scottish game.

We don't owe "the emerging talent in the Scottish game" anything. The object of Greenock Morton FC's first team is to attain success in professional football. We could sign fucking martians for all the different it'll make to that goal.

I never said we owed them anything. My point was that if a foreign player is prepared to drop down to seaside league level they are probably not going to be any better than the talent that already exists in our game.

Based on what exactly?

The site is supposed to be a place for the extended 'family' of Morton supporters - having an affinity with people that you don't know, because you share a love of your local football club. It's not supposed to be about point scoring and showing how 'clever' or 'funny' you are, or just being downright rude and offensive to people you don't know, because you can get away with it. Unfortunately, it seems the classic case of people who have little standing/presence in real life, use this forum as a way of making themselves feel as if they are something. It's sad, and I've said that before..

So, having been on Morton forums for about 15 years I guess, I've had enough... well done t*ssers, another Morton supporter driven away. You can all feel happy at how 'clever' you are

And how many points a season does sentiment earn? Choose the best players available for the least money, it doesn't matter where they're from. Unless they are from the Greenock area then Morton are nothing more than an employer to them, so what difference does it make if they're from Dingwall or Denmark?
